its been 6 months and 1 day exactly and ive only lost about 100 pounds. i feel like people are always watching me and no one really understands. i think its something going on with me mentally. ive begin eating like i use to but not as much. somebody help me please im so stressed right now. i dont know what to do.
Wait a minute, am I reading this incorrectly? You did say you lost 100 lbs in 6 months and 1 day, correct? OMG you are being way to hard on yourself, many on OH would give a limb to lose that much weight in 6 months.
I don't know how much you need to lose but think about what you just wrote. 100 lbs in 6 months is on average 4.16 lbs per week. This is AWESOME, simply amazing. I haven't read your profile so I don't know where you started or how much you want to lose but had to say if you continue on the course you are on now you are doing great.

Is the fact that you are able to eat the things that got you obese to begin with stressing you? Is the fact that you believe no one understands you stressing you?
I have to say, I never lost 100 pounds after surgery at all so 100 pounds in 6 months sounds like amazing results to me.

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!
Before Surgery: 214
Highest Weight: 240
Now: 125.6
Goal: 130

It took be right around a year to lose 200# which IS 100# in 6 months. That is fast and perfectly acceptible.
Now as for "eating like I used to" that is tricky. In some ways I "eat like I used to" meaning I went to McDonalds last nite. I had the Cheeseburger Happy Meal and fries. The only problem is I USED TO have a Super Size Quarter Pounder Meal and Two double cheeseburgers then maybe finish with some ice cream.
So, I guess that isn't really "eating like I used to"

I started at 370 and I lost 100 pounds in six months. I think that is wonderful! Don't be hard on yourself. I think everyone gets scared when they start eating a wider variety of foods. You may want to check out a local support group, as the members can give you a better prespective on what is going on with them, as wellas yourself. Good luck.
Your weight loss is fantastic! I looked at your profile very briefly, and it looks like you started at 250 lbs.?--if so, I think it's especially good to have lost that amount! I was ecstatic when I'd lost 100 lbs. at a little over 7 mo.
You're right that people often don't understand what we're going through as post-op weight losers. There are unique physical and emotional issues that "normal" people (or other obese people) can never understand. I think we have to work on these issues for a long time, and I don't know what I'd do without this message board. (Actually, I spend most of my time on the "Back on Track Together" board b/c I'm dealing w/ re-gain.)
Please, please don't let yourself relapse into eating foods you know you shouldn't--even if you aren't eating big portions. Stay on track w/ your eating plan. We all have to deal w/ the old poor food choices somewhere along the line, and most can eventually eat small portions of it occasionally, but 6-mo. post-op is awfully early for you to be giving in to the bad stuff.
You can do this--just get back to what you know to do. Your weight loss is wonderful!
