Need help!!!

I am 6 yrs post op RNY gastric bypass.  I have recently started gaining weight.  I have a huge appetite now.  Everything I eat is causing my blood sugar to "crash".  I get shakey, hot, confused, disoriented, and have even passed out.  It used to be from eating "sugary" foods, milk products, produce, etc.  Now....it seems everything causes it.  I'm more concerned about the weight gain.  I know the symptoms and eat something to bring my sugar up.  I have seen several doctors and dieticians who can't seem to help me with the sugar.  I don't want to gain weight!!  I need to lose 25 lbs.  I currently weigh 155 lbs.  I need to be at 130.  I have forgotten all my "rules" and eat whatever I want.

Please help me get back on track.  I need to know the "rules" of the bypass of what I can and can't eat.  I have even been drinking diet soda.  I am stopping it cold turkey today.  I'm not looking for someone to yell at me....I just want some support and advice.  My doctor has retired.

Thank you.

I would be willing to bet that the crashing is caused by bad carbs. You need to ween yourself off of those things. Especially the white ones. Bread, pasta, rice...fruits and veggies will be carbs enough and they don't call to more carbs either. You know, when you start eating the starchy stuff like cookies and bread, you want more and more of that. That's what I mean. fruits and veggies don't do that.

No drinking with meals. In fact, do not drink after you've eaten for at least 30 minutes.

Start reading labels and see what happens with your portions when you stick to the portion listed on the box. Weigh and measure. That should work pretty well.

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

You might want to go there and check the files for about 10 yrs info on reactive hypoglycemia or RGH. There's TONS on it.

On the regain, there's this group, where NO judging takes place, only help.

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
