I have a question
As some of you know. I posted back in oct. I had a unplaned surgery. Where they removed part of of my right colon, a mass and my adpenix. Things where going well after two months and I returned back to my normal life. Of working at my job and at the gym six times a week for 2 hours at atime when I was there. Then in january I found a 4cm by 4cm incission hernia. Yes I went to the Dr where they said I could wait to have surgery. So I set a date for the end of this month. But ended up having surgery three weeks ago this coming monday. Due to the fact that It became red and went from 4cm by 4 cm to 10 cm by 10 cm due to the lifting I do at my job. When they did the surgery. They ended up meshing the whole stomach . Yes it was explained that it will take a good three months for all the swelling to go down. Plus the extra build up of fluids from the hernia. My question is has anyone ever had there whole stomach meshed. Plus is it normal to still have alot of pain near the rib area and near the private area. Yes I was cleared to start walking again. Plus the eating and drinking is not that good. Due to the fat that it burns no matter what I eat or drink. Yes I do see the DR on the 29 th of this month/ I was just wondering if anyone has ever gone thur this before. Thanks in advance Taichi
I'm sorry. I dont' have any experience in this sort of complication at all. I think there is a complications board. You might check there.
I'm so sorry you're suffering. Hopefully you have all this fixed and SOON.

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I had an incisional hernia removed last June. It was quite large and the meshing went from rib to rib. I still have stabbing pains mostly on my right rib and usually after I have consumed a larger than usual meal. I was told that the "stitch" that I felt would go away in time and that I would get feeling back in my stomach area in about 3 months. I still do not have feeling in that area. It feels like someone gave me a novicane shot and it is all rubbery to the touch. Also, from that point I gain 10 lbs of which I can not seem to take off. It is like my body got the ten pounds back and was happy about it and not letting it go. My advise is to watch what you eat at this point so that you will not have a gain and try not to put to much in your stomach at once to prevent any pulling in that area around the ribs, that will help with the pain. Do not pick anything up over 5 lbs. My doctor was absolutely stern on this matter for at least 8 weeks. On a good note, they did cut me on the same scar that I already had from the open bypass and it healed very nicely in the same location. Hang in there.
