Yesterday was day #1 of my attempt to bring the carb-monster down for good LOL. I have been slowly, steadily gaining from stress-eating and the scale and my clothing were showing it. I stuck to nothing but protein yesterday, got all of my water in.

Plan on doing the same thing today and tomorrow, at least that will shock my body into getting back on track. The first couple of days are always the toughest.

Now if it would just get warmer here so I could burn off some calories working in the yard or something.

That's awesome. Carbs are especially hard to get a handle on...For me, it's sugar in the form of cookies (especially my husband's chocolate chip cookies!) and so they are just not allowed in the house at all. Period..If you're like me, you just have to draw the line and stay after it.

After alittle while you can add fruits and fibrous veggies because while they are carbs, they are good carbs. It just takes some mind searching when you do add something. If you think the carb is going to make you stumble, like bananas...sometimes those just make me want a cookie...what is it with that? Anyway, if you find something has a pull on you, you just have to cut it out..

I'm so pleased that you posted this on the accountability thread! I love hearing it. Thanks!

I have been so busy I  didn't  weigh for almost 2 weeks. I usually weight every day. SO>>>> I weighed and had gained 4.5 pounds.
Scarey!  So I reduced my carbs, eating salads with grilled chicken or steak. Lots of sliced roasted chicken with steamed veggies. No potatoes, no chips, no rice. I GAINED another half pound in 3 days.
" SIGH"
So I said to hell with it for the weekend, and start back on Monday.  Saturday I drank chocolate milk with toast with loads of butter for breakfast.I had Parm crusted chicken, with a baked sweet potato loaded with butter, 2 slices of whole grain bread with butter for lunch. I ate a burger with cheese and half the bun, along with wedge cut fries and 1 small pancake with butter and syrup ( sugar ladden).
Then I had 3 SF popcicles that were 100 calories each.  I ate probably 5-6 oz cheese during the day along with some baked flavored crackers. Ending the evening with 3 rice crispy treats.
Damn! I knew I was screwed, but weighed this morning anyway. I was back down the whole 5 pounds!
What the hell???? I remained confused and dismayed. I don't know what I'm supposed to do really. Every time I think I have a handle on things, I get thrown a curve.  I generally don't eat so much, and usually cannot eat so much. I felt out of control, and then got rewarded for it!
Today is Sunday, and I'm eating in a more normal fashion. I guess we'll see how this is gong to go.

OH MY GOSH...How often have I been there? The only thing I can say is that maybe, just maybe it was sal****er weight gain??? That's what it usually is with me.

I really messed myself up Sunday..I hit the buffet. Mostly because I was so darn mad that I wasn't serving dinner on Sunday. Everyone stood me up. ds, dd and sil....crap. I pulled myself up by my boot straps later in the day but for breakfast (the second one, after church) I just ate what I damn well felt like..

But, for you and me, Monday's coming and we can start over then and see what that does. Change one thing to the right direction and see what that does. Drink more water. That's what I plan to do tomorrow...more water. Couldn't hurt.
