Hello
Just wondering what thoughts people have on over the counter Alli a diet pill that doesn't let you absorb so much fat.  Anyone tried it?  I asked the pharmacist if she thought a RNY patient out four years could take it successfully.  She thought maybe yes but not absolutely sure.  I was thinking since I already have the mal absorption would the pill still work?  Thanks Susan T

personally, I think it is a bad idea.

2 words: "anal leakage" yuck

plus, like you pointed out, do we want to add more malabsorption?

I've seen people have success doing weigh****chers post op. Heck, I think some doctors will even prescribe a regular old diet pill (which can fabulously screw up your metabolism)

Do you think you are eating a lot of fat?

To me, carbs and sugar are the problem children in the fight for weight loss.

what are you eating?

I took Xenical, which contains the same drug that's in Alli.  I had to be near a bathroom AT ALL TIMES because I never knew when the urge would hit.  And when it hit, you had to get there FAST.  I started having to wear pads, just in case.  It was pretty horrible, and not terribly effective.  Now, all this happened before WLS, so I don't know what difference that would make.  But in my opinion?  Not worth it.
