Hey gang, I've been struggling with the carbs since I quit smoking 2 weeks ago and really need to do something to reset my mind and getting my eating habits under control.

I'm starting the 5DPT on Monday and was looking for the information Tiger Angie posted on the 5DPT, it was just really simple to have at your finger tips on what was allowed on each day.  If anyone has it would you please post, my old computer crashed so I lost the information.

Thanks,

Hi Dana,

Just wanted to let you know that I am starting the 5DPT tomorrow also.....if you need any help or just need to vent, let me know!

I have never done it before, and thought I would give it a try, like you to break the carb cycle....

Good Luck to you if you are!

Carmella,

I started the 5day PT on Monday too. How is it going for you now in day ?.

I did well in 1 and 2 - it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Today I'm trying the Parmesan Tuna patties and the Chicken Feta salad - nice to be back to food again - it reminds me a little of the time right after surgery - I was so glad when I got to have some soft foods

This is the first time I've done the 5day PT also - it seems so far to be a good way to remember to use the tool - I definetly feel rejuvenated - I think this is something I'll come back to whenever I start to get off track again.

Shelba, I had the Parmesan Tuna Patties today for lunch and dinner also.  They were actually pretty good.  I'm feeling some good restriction today, this is my 3rd time doing the pouch test in the past 14 months, it really helps me when I feel out of control.

Hi Shelba:

Well, I'm doing great so far! Days 1 & 2 were hard for me, only because I never did the protein shakes/smoothies before, so I am doing them now.  And I am adjusting to the taste.  But I did stick to it.  Today I did the chicken feta salad and yes, I loved it.   I did have a headache for 2 days.  For some reason I thought it was a bright idea to stop drinking my coffee too!
Today has been has been better.  I am just staying focused and I keep reminding myself that I am worth it.  I also went to Penny's and tried on bathing suits (& bought one) yesterday, so that kept me focused!!!

Not too sure what to eat for day 4?? Any suggestions?  I know on day 5 we can have like chicken breast, right?

Carmella, sorry I'm just responding.  I didn't get an email response to your reply just had a moment to check the board tonight.

So how is the 5DPT going for you?  Day 3 here and I'm really excited, wow to feel the restriction is always so exciting.  Carbs aren't even tempting me right now.

Ohhh that's ok!!  Hopefully your doing ok on the 5DPT.  I'm doing good so far!  Day 3 for me too.  Not intrested in the carbs either!  I find myself now just focusing on the clock again, making sure I am eating, drinking, and NOT eating and drinking at the same time....things that I have not done in a really long time....

I will also say I have noticed that my pouch has been making horrible gurgling noises for a long time now.....months maybe....and it's actually quiet around here! LOL...Maybe I should pay attention to her more often!

Hopefully the smoking is going well for you too!

I don't have a bit of advice for you, but I just wanted to tell you how GREAT you are for quitting smoking.

Thanks Wanda, I'm feeling really good about it this time.  I've quit smoking a couple of times before (before WLS and PS) and then went back to it.   I am hoping I never give in to it again, I know I'll face challenges but so far so good.
