Antidepressants/Side Effects/WT. Gain

Hello Everyone
  Just wondering if anyone took antidepressants and what if any side effects did you expereince.  Some side effects could be appetite suppressant or increase in appetite, low sex drive, loss of ambition or goals due to feeling so good.
   My M.D. prescribed Elavil and I am little hesitant to take because of side effects.  I was taking Lexapro a few years ago and it worked good but it did kill my sex drive and really upsetting dreams. It wasnt so bad because it did quiet all that negative thinking but it also quieted some good stuff. So, if anyone has any experience with that I would appreciate any advice. Thanks Susan T

Elavil I have never heard of..
I took effexor. and I gained weight..
Lexapro.. and was numbed out of everything.. good and bad.. and that was bad.... very bad..
Paxil did nothing for me at all..
so I gave up.. 
Be carefull. watch your condition.. make sure someone you trust knows you are taking this drug so that if they see you acting not normal they can advise you and you can talk to your dr... sometimes .. we cannot see it..
When I was taking lexapro.. my job was being restructued and my boss was asking me why I wasn't concerned.. when she asked me that... I knew something was wrong.. I should have been acting and I wasn't..

I take Effexor.  Without it I cry watching commercials!

As I have no sex life, I can't comment on that part but my guess would be that it does lower sex drive.I'm not aware of any side effects. 

I wi**** decreased appetite!
