Trouble eatting meat?

Just wondering if I am the only one that feels like I have a rock in my epigastric area anytime I eat meat. It works out better if it is ground hamburger or a fatty meat but otherwise even if I chew, chew, chew I feel like it is all balled up in there and I am miserable until I finally throw it up. I have gained 30 pounds because I am eatting too many carbs. It has gotten to the point that I won't hardly even try to eat meat. I do have the stylistic (sp?) ring around my gastric outlet and I am sure this is contributing but surely this is not the way everyone feels when they eat meat!

I've heard problems with one kind of meat like "can't each chicken" or "can't eat beef" at all but that's an individual thing. I can eat beef but have to take tiny little bites and can only have alittle at a time. Sometimes no more than an ounce or two, then rest for a while and alittle more. Ground beef is alot easier for me too but I can do beef steak provided it's medium rare and not too done..
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Yes, yes,  yes; did I mention the answer is yes?  I have a terrible time with steak, chicken as well as salmon.  It has to be chewed to death, or covered with some type of sauce or gravy.  I have almost given up on steak.  If I don't have a greasy hamburger, I can barely get it down.  I have trouble with grease as well, as I can no longer tolerate ribs, etc. so, I have a double whammy.  I would recommend trying some sugar-free BBQ sauce, or fat free gravy on the meat.  I have hung my head over the toilet more times than I can count, when pieces of meat have become stuck.

I eat quite a bit of low-fat cheese, and this has become a dietary staple.  Also, I am from the school of thought that there are great carbs out there.  High fiber bread and bagels, wheat pasta.  Don't discount these types of carbs.  Sugar is of the devil, and of course this is the monkey on my back!  The complex carbs do not trigger me to eat, but sugar is like alcohol to me.  I have to leave it alone the majority of the time.  Good luck!

I have trouble eating meat, that's why I usually don't.

For example, we were with friends at an Indian restaurant and Lamb Kebabs were among the dishes we were eating "family style"  I tried a chunk of lamb and it was dry and dense.  I stopped eating it and it ended up in a napkin.  I figured: no sense in figuratively ramming my head into a wall when I could enjoy the Gohobi, Daal, and other (softer) foods.

I consider myself a flexitarian (over half of my meals are meatless) but ground meat, stewed meats, etc. are obviously easier to eat.  There are plenty of non meat sources of protein (beans, eggs, strained yogurt) so you may want to get inspiration from vegetarian recipes.  Just beware of the "spaghetti vegetarians" that are out there.

I have this problem mostly with steak and other cuts of beef.
I recently experienced it with Tuna.. I think I may not have chewed enough..
I have have probably for the most part given up on beef unless it it ground.
Chicken if I don't chew it well enough or if its too dry will do this to me..
I never experience this with carbs or fish like shrimp..
I agree carbs are much easier to tollerate.

I don't believe we are alone.
Good Luck and keep trying..
that is what I have been told..

I still have issues about 60-70% of the time with meat. Almost all of them. It's better if they're cooked super soft or cold. Cold next day fridge steak is one of my stand bys. It's gotten a little better as of late- I can keep down half a hamburger if I eat it super slow.
