Well, I really wanted a Rueben Sandwich for lunch but I got a Gyro instead. When I looked on fitday, it gives an unreal total for what I believe I ate so I'm thinking the size is smaller than fitday says. But just in case, I'm done eating today anyway.

My new best friend is Spaghetti Squash instead of spaghetti noodles. a cup of squash: 75 calories. a cup of noodles: 220 calories...Hmm...1/3 the cost. I like!

List for the day: 

5:00 am 10 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss
6:00 am 1/3 cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup tvp, 1 cup soy milk
7:00 am 24 oz Drink Mix, Raspberry Lemonade
8:00 am 10 oz Coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss
8:30 am 1 oz Mozzarella Cheese Stick, 1 pc Turkey deli meat
9:30 am 24 oz Drink Mix, Fruit Punch
11:00 am 1 medium orange
12:00 pm 1 gyro sandwich, approx 7 ounces, pita flat bread
1:30 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, Grapefruit caffeinated
3:15 pm 12 oz Drink Mix, Strawberry
4:00 pm 1 hardboiled egg
4:30 pm 12 oz Drink Mix, Strawberry
5:00 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, Berry Splash
6:00 pm 3 oz lean ground beef as meat balls, 1 cup spaghetti squash, 1/2 cup meat sauce..Yummy

I don't believe I could eat more than 7 ounces of gyro...but it's possible, I guess.

Hey Dawn. I've been a grazing fool today for some reason. Even with all the unnecessary snacks, my totals are not too bad. Carbs are high for the low number of protein. Oh well, I'll do better tomorrow.

Here's the damage....

Breakfast:
2 oz Thin cut steak
2 scrambled eggs with cheese

Snacks:
South Beach protein cereal bar
SF Jello

Lunch:
1 Cup of Chili
WW Yogurt

Snack:
NSA Peaches
Fun size snickers bar

Dinner:
Grilled pork chop
Steamed broccoli

Snack:
Carb/sugar  control yogurt

I see the grazing tendency thing going on but you started good and ended good. Most of the snacks aren't too bad, really...The one and only thing is the fun sized snickers. And you did ONE? Remember the days when you or I might have done several full sized ones? 

I looked at Whoppers yesterday. 1034 calories for ONE...And in a good week, I might have eaten several. I thought when those people on television said people sometimes get 4000 calories in a day they couldn't mean ME! But it turns out they were right. I think the one thing that could make someone presurgery take a hard look at what they eat is journaling..I just didn't have any idea how much those things add up. A breakfast burrito for breakfast, Double Whopper with cheese for lunch. Spaghetti for dinner and a big ol' slice of pie for dessert...I'm talking 5000 calories. No wonder I was obese!

You can walk away from that silly little snickers...Add a cheese stick or another yogurt but you can walk away! Keep up the good work. You're fighting the good fight...And I think you're doing well.
