Anyone every have a lift of the sagging skin (very little) on their belly without having to go through the headache of them working on your ab muscles?  I have no excess fat and I am beyond toned (talking 8 pack here) but I have about 2 inches of skin I would like to have removed.

Yes, you can have a panniculectomy - removal of skin only.

I wonder if the pain/recovery time/cost are less?

Not sure about the cost.  However,  you are not dealing with any lipo or the pain of having your muscles worked on.  Would be interesting to hear from anyone regarding this.  I have a consult tomorrow.

Hey Vi - how did the consult go?

It was interesting.  The neck thing is a simple one hour procedure under a local with just a couple of incisions.  The tummy was frustrating in as much as he agreed that no need to pull any muscles (good muscle tone) but pulling what little excess skin I have would still be a tummy tuck ( there is no panni so a panniculectomy is moot).  The idea of paying for a full tummy tuck for pulling down the skin seems out of order to me.  So, I have a few other consults coming up with other doctor's.  I just feel you don't need to be over sold.

I hate to tell you but the panniculectomy is not just removing the skin. They tighten your insides up like an internal corset. Mine cost about $8000 in 2004 but I had hernia repair done at the same time so I had a discount on anesteiology.

Yeah, I'm seeing another plastics person who says the procedure is doable without a panni (which I don't need)
