anyone still prefer soft protein, slider foods instead of dense ones?
I'm almost 5 years out and prefer sliders. That being said, that is part of the reason I've gained 15 pounds. I don't like pork chops, not really liking chicken anymore either. Ground beef, steak, any kind of roast is okay.
Someone else said that dense protein is too much work. I have to agree. I don't always know when the next bite is too much until I swallow it and it causes me pain. Plus, I'm lazy!
I'm trying to reform and add more dense protein into my diet. I really don't like breakfast and never have. I usually have a shake for breakfast. Lunch is cottage cheese and a couple slices of ham. Supper is when I do the denser protein. I might be able to eat a couple ounces of a dense protein like chicken. But that's about it. I guess that's a good thing. I need to make this change back to the way we are all supposed to be eating if I want to lose these stubborn pounds. GRR!

I never thought about it or noticed it one way or the other but now that you brought it to my atttention I would have to say I prefer to eat regular food. I eat any and all meats, fish, slider foods anything. I never even knew what slider foods were until I saw it on here. I have gone back to my old eating habits so much I just didn't notice. I will surely take notice of it now though as I am slowly, consistently gaining weight. Hm......................Susie
I am in the "don't want to fight with my food" category too.
I am the queen of chili's, taco soups, chicken veggie soups, etc. That is why I love the winter months so much. Whenever I eat the dense meats I take the risk of eating that one bite too much and then, BAM, it's too late and I feel icky for hours until it finally comes up. So, to make my life easier I do tend to stick with the sliders.
I do know that I do eat more because of that. I do have to meassure out one cup of chili and not just pour it in my bowl because I could easily down more than that.
Made Italian cheesy chicken the other day that was sooo good (flattened out chicken breast with spices and a motz cheese stick then rolled up and sprinkled with italian dressing, baked in oven till done). It was soooo yummy but then I fought with it later that night and was miserable cause I ate one bite too many.
