Wow, lots of things!

Look at pictures~old ones and new ones
Weigh myself
Look forward to an upcoming event to keep me eating right and exercising
Try on my "skinny" jeans
Come to OH to post and read
Go to support group meetings
Talk to other WLS'ers
Continue to research the latest things about wls

There's probably many more things, but I can't think of anything else right now, LOL!

I hear ya! I gained about 10lbs between Halloween and New Years and am now fighting to get it back off. It can still be done, but it takes alot of hard work! I have my 4yr follow up appt tomorrow so that got me motivated on Jan 2nd b/c I knew I only had 21days to get some work done!!! I haven't weighed in 2wks so tomorrow we shall see?? I do know my clothes are fitting better so maybe, just maybe I've made some progress. Good Luck to you with staying motivated and getting to your goal!!!!!!!!!

Kim,

I, too, am having a hard time staying motivated, and I have a huge reason to re-lose the weight: our daughter is getting married Aug. 1!!  However, oftentimes those really big events (i.e., reunions, etc.) don't work for me.  I absolutely REFUSE to go shopping for my dress until I've lost at least some of this weight.  I was at my lowest weight for our other daughter's wedding 3 yrs. ago, and I know I won't be at that weight, but my present weight is SO unacceptable!  (The good news is that when our son was married 10 yrs. ago, I was huge, so I am still grateful for where I'm at now!)

With all that rambling done, I would say my biggest motivators are (1) (like Tracy said) looking at old pictures--that still makes me sad b/c I can just "feel" how miserable I was--and the ones when I was at my lowest make me remember how much I loved it!; (2) continuing to coming to OH.  I have no local support group, and I really rely on OH.  I am particularly plugged into the new Back on Track Together (BOTT) forum, so you might want to join us there too!  It is a very encouraging, inspiring group!

Always,
Jo

Hi Kim,
Motivation comes from within. You are a success, you are so beautiful and you will get those 10 pounds off.
Are you attending a bariatric support group? If not now is the time to go.
Are you exercising? If not start today. Little steps, then go a little longer each day.
Are you drinking with your meals?
Are you drinking alcohol?

First of all love yourself for who and what you are. We are the hardest on ourselves. Is it time to take some pressure off you? Maybe go visit the elderly in nursing homes. They love visitors.
It's so easy for us to put our weight back on the further out we get.

I'm a revision, I didn't have a "virgin gut" and I knew I had to work hard for each pound I lost. I was a slow loser. I never compared myself to others. I chose exercise as my "transfer addiction". Heck ya, I didn't like to exercise but now my body craves it. I look forward to going to the gym. Exercise is the key to keeping weight off. You have to move to lose.

Keep posting, we will give you support. You are not alone. Sending you cyber hugs- Debbiejean
