Iron Infusions done!!

I completed 8 iron infusions over the course of 9 days. It was convienent having the infusions completed at the hospital where I work. It was annoying working with an IV in my forearm. Oh well at least I was able to work.

I feel so much better now. I didn't really know I felt bad. But now that I have my energy level back I realize how drained I really was.

I have repeat bloodwork toward the middle of February. It will interesting to see my ferritin and iron saturation levels.

Thanks for all the advice and support!

Hey sweetie!

I'm so glad you finally feel better! I hope your body can hold your levels up there and stay!
You reminded me I gotta get on the ball and make an appointment for labs!  UGH!  I dread making the appointment...going to it ...getting the labs drawn...waiting on the results and then the news!  It's so stressful to me!  LOL  I'd much rather avoid it all...but I gotta go do it!

Hugs!

Thank You!

I'm looking forward to having my labs drawn next month. I will be nervous when I have my 3 year check up in April and then again in August with the Hematologists. The hematogist said I may need the infusions every 6 months. So I will be holding my breath waiting for the results down the road.

Make your appointment. I'm sure your numbers will be good!

Take care

I have had 6 or 8 I'll finish up in 2 weeks. I do mine on Mondays  so I am only working a 1/2 a day on Mondays.  This is inconvenient.  I generally feel better by Thrusday.  No way I could work...The benedryl  makes me so sleepy. I hope I feel better like you do...I can see a change but I know I am not 100 %.   Good luck to you.

The first 2 I did in the morning; the 5 I did on workdays I did at lunch. I didn't have a reaction so I didn't need any benedryl.

I had my 8 infusions over 9 days. I could have done them 8 days in a row, but I gave myself Saturday off. Must be why I had such a rapid improvement in my energy level.

It's interesting that every doc seem to have their on protocol.

I hope you get to 100% soon.

Belinda
