Hello to you all.....

I am new to this forum, however have been lurking here for over a year now. I had open RNY in 2002 with great success losing 115 lbs in one year. Then sometime after my third year post op managed to return to poor eating habits and added alcohol to my diet and ended up gaining back 50 lbs. Within the last year I was able to get myself back on track and have lost 25 lbs of the 50 I gained. I am hoping to lose another 15 lbs which will put me at what I feel is a good weight for my body. I wanted you all to know how much just reading your posts has helped me in my effort to get back on track, so thank you all for that. I figured no more lurking... I might as well join in.

Kelly, so glad you decided to stop lurking!  You've my deepest admiration for losing half your regained weight!  Do you have any keys to success?

Michele, thanks for your encouragement. I think what helped me the most was when I started tracking what I was eating. I have also had a procedure done called sclerotherapy. This procedure was done because the opening to my pouch had stretched. What they do is inject the same type of solution they inject for shrinking of vericose veins around the pouch opening, which creates scar tissue to make the opening smaller.

Yes I do use fitday.com to track my intake. It is such a useful tool to use...you just don't realize how much you are eating until you track it. My biggest problems that I really need to work on are  the exercise and drinking enough water !!!
