Gidget, you've come to the best place for support! Many of us are in the same situation and all of us understand. Maintenance is not easy. What idiot said that WLS was easy anyhow?
I'm going to start the 5DPT tomorrow. For me, it's the best way to get the carb monster under control. But however you do it, get back to basics. Measure your food and journal. Up or change your exercise. Drink your water. Protein first. Take your vitamins!
Read OH or the other sites daily and post when you need advice. You CAN do this!

Hi Gidget,
I'm in exactly the same place - 40 pounds up from my lowest. I had my surgery in 2003, had my daughter in 2005 and gained some bad habits back. I ate because I thought I could (being pregnant, then nursing).
I know how to get the weight off but I haven't done it. I plan to start fresh this day - I've already walked with my neighbor this morning. I'm going to keep a food journal and try to get back to the basics of our surgery. One of my biggest downfalls is drinking while eating (and diet coke at that!).
I wish you all the best - you are not alone in this battle!

You and I are about a week apart and I have gained 25 pounds, its amazing how fast it comes back on isnt it. My husband and I joined a new health club over the weekend, so I start with water arobics at 9am. After class Im hitting the grocery store to stock up on fruits and veggies. Im determaned to get it back off before summer. I was reading about that volume diet, where you add alot off veggies or high water conent foods to your protein to help fill you up. So Im going to give it a try, I think its like alot of salads and stir fry type foods. I really need to cut the carbs, and drink more water and of course exercise is the key, and oh ya cut the alcohol. Good luck, Deb
Welcome!!!! I just posted about my gain too~its a common thing to have happen at 3+yrs post op, but I'm with you~not going back to where I used to be!!!! Getting back to basics is great! What about exercise? How's your water intake? Do you drink with meals or still follow no drinking at least 30/30 before and after meals? Still taking your vits?
You have caught this and now you CAN change it!!!! We're here to support you any time! Good Luck and keep us posted on your progress!!!!!
