Well, we didn't really have a party but we had a friend come on over and we celebrated the New Year coming at 9 pm...Such whimps! It was New Years somewhere LOL.

List for the day:

B: oatmeal, tvp, soy milk coffee

S: 24 oz container of water with drink mix

L: Quiche, ground beef, home fried potatoes (all of which were leftovers from a previous breakfast)

S: 24 oz container of water with drink mix

D: 1 cup homemade Chili con carne with beans (and added protein) and a few crackers with cheese

Dessert: 1 wine cooler while we were watching movies, 24 oz container of water with drink mix.

Totals for the day:

Calories: 1703
Fat: 72.2
Carbs: 152.4
Protein: 102.4

Low protein. AND I registered a new high on the scale New Years morning...DAMN. I'm going to try not to let it bother me but you know it will. 131. Yikes.

How did you do? Be honest and include the alcohol if you had it. LOL.

protein shake

L- Jimmy Johns unwich of turkey, lettuce, tomate, mayo .  it was yummy.lol

S- 4 oz chicken breast, 1/2 c green beans

snack- blew it with popcorn,pretzles,crackers

but I did get my H2O in

It totaled around 1100 cal. since I ate the snackies I don't know for sure the correct amount

But I have lost the 4 lbs I gained on Christmas.

I just started weighing & counting again. I saw that scale at 183 after Christmas & I really freaked out. But I got a WII & the FIRM DVD, & I got a used tred mill. I WILL do this.

I freaked out this morning myself...And I only saw two extra pounds.

1100 calories isn't bad, not bad at all. That Wii is lots of fun. I have to get back to it really, today is my resolution. I feel better when I do it but I've made all sorts of exuses NOT to Wii...Today we walked 2 miles so I don't feel so bad but still. I need to Wii and get my water in.

Keep up the good work. popcorn, pretzels and crackers aren't too bad in moderation but if they are trigger foods, steer clear. With me it's my dh's homemade Chocolate Chip cookies so he's banned from making them anymore.

Happy New Year!

Boy, you were GOOD!  I have to admit I was not so good! :(  I did have some chips, and chocolate but that is it!  We had no party, no hor s derves and we welcomed in the New Year in our PJ's.  This was the first time my hubby and I celebrated ALONE!  Our daughter went out this year with her new boyfriend!  Oh, and NO achohol.  I refuse to touch the stuff, No soda either.  I just stuck to my crystal lite with protein powder in it and my treat coffee!  All in all, it was quiet but very relaxiing.  Oh and BTW.....If you celebrated at 9 pm it was midnight here in NY so you and your friend welcomed in our new year!  Hope yours was a nice one!

I'm good about the soda thing. I quit drinking it and haven't touched it again since surgery (July 2006) Alcohol, now that's a different story. I don't do it once a day or once a week but I do it occasionally.

The calling it a night after 9 pm seemed to make sense to us because we at least saw in the New Year for this country anyway...Since New York saw it at 9 pm our time, we were good with that. LOL.

Hello Dawn. Happy New Year!!!!!
Yesterday I stayed home all day with my family. We made party trays and shot fireworks. Then at 12:30, I went to a late night party with friends. My eating was not the best and I did have a few "drinks". One of my new year resolutions is to stop beating myself up when I have an "off" day. I had surgery to live a normal life.  non wls people, do eat bad stuff, enjoy parties with foods. why cant i? My weight is stable right now even with my off days. Anyway, here's the damage...

Breakfast:
4 strips of turkey bacon
1 slice of lite wheat toast w/ spray butter

Lunch:
1/2 Cup of Chili w/ 2 tbp. of shredded cheese
1/2 a serving of tostitos scoops

Snack: ( this is where the snacking started)
4 cheese cubes, 4 whole wheat club crackers and 1 oatmeal rasin cookie

Dinner:
3 Jumbo shrimp w/ coctail sauce, 3 coctail smokies, 3 cheese cubes, 3 wheat club crackers, 3 hot wings w/ lite ranch & few celery sticks.

Snack:
1/2 serving of baked tostitos w/ salsa
Handful of mixed nuts

Amen to not beating yourself up! Great resolution.

Best thing you can eat at a party: shrimp and ****tail sauce! My favorite. My sister always makes lasagna for Christmas Eve but I don't touch that stuff. I fill up on the shrimp and ****tail sauce. I want to just move the platter in front of my seat and nibble and chat all night...LOL.

I hope my weight can stay stable this year...I want to drop this stupid two pounds or I'll go absolutely nuts.

Keep up the great work. See ya.

Dawn

Question.....Since you like shrimp as much as I do here is my question for you and anyone else who loves shrimp.

I find that when I go to the Chinese Buffet I start my meal off with a nice FULL plate of shrimp with ****tail sauce.  This will fill me up so I do not desire any ot the fatty foods.  I find that I CAN eat a pretty full plate of the shrimp but yet when I eat a different type of meal I may only be able to eat just a few bites and that is it.

How much shrimp w/****tail sauce can you at at one sitting before feeling full.  I am assuming I can eat a lot of shrimp because it has little to no real consistency and is made up of mostly water?  What is your opinion?

Shrimp probably has a lot of water. I know when I have cooked frozen shrimp (a staple at my house) when I thaw it out, alot of water comes out of it and it weighs alot less.

Plus it's a fish and sort of on the "slippery" side so, LOL, I guess shrimp is like slider food.

I can eat pretty close to a full plate load of it myself. When I was at my sister's party for Christmas Eve I had a full plate and was full for nearly three hours. Then I had some more and I was good for the night. Not too much fat, tons of protein.

The way I figure how much I've had is the size that they are 21-40 per pound so if I have 10...that's a quarter pound or 4 ounces. If they're jumbo and 20 per pound, 5 is a quarter pound..
