sick to my stomach and abdominal pain
I am one year out from surgery and had no issues up until 3 weeks ago.
I have pain in around my belly button and above. When I eat I feel so sick to my stomach. My stomach gurles alot after I eat. The pain in my stomach sometimes is so bad that I can't move. The dr did a ct scan came back negative. He did exploratory lap surgery and only found that I have two adhesion and took care of them but still didn't fix the problem. Since I have never had any issues before this is really scary. For the past three weeks I've been eating soups, pretzels and slim fast protein shakes. Has anyone had this problem?
Thanks

Hi,
So, your doctor did surgery to find the reason for your stomach pain? That is pretty drastic. You may want to get an endoscopy done to see if there are any ulcers. This is a very common test. Ulcers can appear in the intestines as well so maybe a colonoscopy would be good too. Getting on something like Prevacid may help.

I've had similar symptoms and just got out of the hospital for re-hydration and pain control. The CT scan didn't shed much light on the problem. They think there might be a hernia and/or adhesions near the j-j anastamosis.
The plan is to do an upper GI and an EGD and as a last resort exploratory lap. Hoping I don't have to go there, but we'll see.
Sorry they couldn't find/fix your problem - it sucks! Hopefully things will resolve soon.
