Keeping that Motivation going strong

Hi Gang,
Well, a lot of us are struggling with food choices and keeping our motivation up. Holidays sometimes are not the happiest of times for some people and we have to respect them, and hey, all our feelings are validated, we are good people.

So how are you going to stay motivated this time of year? Are you going to give yourself permission to eat whatever you want to eat? I won't do that to myself, if doesn't work for me. I do allow myself treats but never again will I give myself "cart blanch" of eating whatever. For the first time in my life I am thin, at least for me at 139 at 5'3" at age 52 I have finally, finally know what thin feels like.

So if you are in the dumps, focus on other people needs. Here's some suggestions: go visit the elderly in the nursing homes, go shovel out your neighbors walks/driveway. Go to the local schools and read to the children. Get involved in community events. Walk the dog and if you don't have a dog, walk the neighbor's dog.

If you fall off the wagon, just pick yourself up and star****ching what you put in your mouth right away, don't wait til tomorrow...tomorrow never comes! None of us are perfect but we can reach our goals, be kind to others because we all need each other to survive. Don't forget to exercise, it's good for our health and our bodies will thank us for it and it helps our mood. May your holidays be complete with happiness and love for others. Reach out and touch someone, give that person that has helped you in a time of need a phone call.

And remember you can treat yourself but that's just it...it's a treat, plan for it and savor the taste. Remember after 3 bites you have tasted it...now you can pu**** away from you and tell yourself your satisfied...just because you can it all of it...should you?
