This is REALLY interesting.  I stopped losing around a year out and am at the weight I was when I was 16.  Nothing I do will budge me past that weight.

My body just won't give up past this.

weird huh? are you happy where you are? I'm trying to increase my exercise but the treadmill is the most boring thing in the world. And if I try to watch tv while I'm on it I tend to lose my balance!

congrats on your weight loss

No - not happy where I am.  I at least want to lose 15lbs to get to a normal bmi, but in an ideal world lose 35lb.

I have exercised alot, but find it so boring.  I'm completely lost without the tv to watch.

Thanks, great post

shapely is easier when you are young and don't have stretched out skin!

you have done so well, I look at my nieces who are in their 20's and just want their energy!

good luck with your upcoming plastics!

I'm not exactly sure what I weighed at 16, but I'm pretty sure I'm about 30 or 40 lbs thinner now then I was then. I was over weight when I was 16, I was about the same height, so the answer for me is no, i have a better body now.

you are one of the exceptions then. you have definitely done so well, must feel pretty good to be in better shape than your 16 year old self!

Over the long haul DSers tend to lose more weight then RNYers or Lap banders, so perhaps the same wouldn't be true for us. I dont' know.....the DS also seems to attract those that were overweight their entire lives (including their teen years). I don't know...would you mind if I posted this on the DS forum? I want to see what the response would be over there.

I don't think Judi would mind.  We were discussing this on the R&R board because I am 5'7" and weigh 120 lbs.  Can't seem to gain any weight back.  Amanda said her nutrition said you should weigh what you did when you were 16.  Well I do, so we wanted to start a poll and see if she was right.  So Judi said she would start this one with the wls grads.

I would love to see what the DS forum would have to say, this is all so interesting!  The more information we have on wls and the outcome the better.
