Any New Year's Resolutions

So, I know its a few weeks early, but is anyone thinking of making any New Years Resolutions?

Most of the time I'm pretty good at eating right and exercising~I try really hard most days to do what's best for my health and my body. Of course, I have my "days"~its frustrating to get off track even if its only for a day or two. So, I think with the coming new year my focus will be on ramping up my workout routine. A little while ago I did a 2month stretch of really working out hard and it did pay off~I didn't lose much in weight, but I could tell that things were more tone and firm. When I went to my monthly support group meeting many people thought I had dropped a good amount of weight b/c my body looked different from the workouts. Well, I have slacked off lately~still doing at least 30 min a day most days of the week, but not nearly enough to continue to make the changes in my body that I want to. I hate that this time of year gets so hectic and there's so much food around~it makes it tough to stick to the plan! So, I will do my best to get thru the next few weeks without doing too much damage and then I will be hittin' it hard on the workouts!!!!

What's everyone else thinking about doing???

I'm having trouble getting in my Wii time so I'm thinking if I make a deal with myself to Wii three times a week, if I do that four times or five times, I'll feel like I'm really doing something good.

I'm still thinking about it but next year has to be better for me...This year has been really awful!
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

My resolution is to get back to basics, stay on track, and lose the 15 pounds I regained since my RNY in 2004.  I totally feel like I did when I weighed 285 and when I look in the mirror this is the person I see and not the woman who now weighs 165.

I'm just going to keep doing what it is I do. I'd like to exercise more, but it's still not a habit and I am starting to accept that it just may not be one.

2. Be true to my goal of journaling 100%
3. Lose the 20 lbs I've gained (had my 3 year post followup this past week) GBP/RNY Dec 1, 2005.

I totally identify w/ TberryRose's comment--I, too, feel like my re-gain makes me feel as bad as I did when I weighed 295!  While I know intellectually that I look & feel far, far better than I did pre-op, I feel almost as self-conscious as I did back in Aug., '04!

So, yes, my resolution is to get through this mo. as best as I can--hopefully at least maintain the damage I've already done!--and then take off at least 20 lbs.  The main way I'm going to do this is to get back to my work outs and journal every day on thedailyplate.com.  And, of course, the obvious--stop grazing over the course of a day like I haven't even had wls.

Always,
Jo

Tracy I always make the resolution to not make a resolution, but if I were to make one....it would be getting back in a normal workout routine again. I slacked for a long time because of having a motorcycle accident. It has been a while since that....but life keeps getting in the way and it has been easy for me to say...screw it....let the exercise go. I need to stop doing that because you are right in a matter of a couple of months you can see a drastic difference. Thanks for the reminder and Happy Holidays to you! Christmas Tree
