When are you a weight loss graduate? xpost
Is it when you've passed your 1 year surgery date?
Is it when you reach your doctor's goal for you?
Is it when you've reached your own personal goal for yourself?
Is it when you've had your plastics and your body looks the way you want it to?
When are you a weight loss graduate?
H: 6'2; HW: 440; WLS: 411; Dr. Goal: 220; LW: 206; CW: 283; RNY: 10/15/07; Panni: 6/12/09; Blind Loop: 8/19/19
This is my understanding. Technically, it was started for those who are 1 yr. post-op or more; however, I don't think anyone here on the grads board is a stickler on that! I think the grads board can serve various purposes, but mainly it's for those who are beyond the basics of losing and want to be part of a forum that's dealing w/ issues of maintaining or continuing to lose (usually slower at this point) to get to goal. We've all "been there, done that" in regards to many of the questions on the main board (this is not to say we aren't interested in the main forum anymore!) and feel like we have more in common with other grads. Many here are dealing with some re-gain, but of course, not all! There are just issues of longer-term weight loss that are more relevant to us here than on the main forum.
If people are at these stages before 1 yr. post-op, then I think they are welcome to read & post here! Whether they are at goal (their own or their surgeon's) isn't the main point b/c some never get to goal. I personally don't care who reads/posts here; it's just that those who aren't at the "grad stage" can usually find more of what they need on the main board.
