Hello Everyone.

I am currently 5 years and 5 months since I had wls.  Over the past 2 years I have gain 15 pounds so I would say I started to see some weight gain about 3.5 years after.I was wondering at what point did any of you start to gain weight, Did you do anything different to gain weight or do you think it was bounce back weight after your weight began to stable.  For me, I know I dont excercise as much as I use to. I know for sure even before wls, I had to excercise faithfully to lose weight no matter how good my diet was.  Starting today, I have rededicated myself to get back to working out  more and lose 20 pounds.  I got a meeting with a trainer. Whats are you doing?

Hi,

I am 8 years out and once I started "living" and changed some of my eating and exercise habits, I gained some weight.  This seems to be rather consistant after two years out across all wls types.  The tool still works.  In fact it works better than going on a regular diet!  That part is exciting.  So, yes, get back into the routine and see what happens.

I am experiencing bounceback weight gain. I will be 2 years post op on december 8, 2008.

My weight has been stable at 138 for the past year.   Well, in Sept 08, we had Hurricane Ike hit our area pretty bad and we had some stressful times, then in Oct 08, I had a birthday and partied like it was 1999!!

Back to reality in Nov08. I gained up to 150 which frightened me. I cannot go back to my prev weight and 150 is far too heavy for me--I am 5'2. I was very happy at 138, even wanted to get to 130 but not in the cards.

I went to WW meetings and working out and that has helped me to lose down to 145, still working to get to 130 or at least 135. My goal is 135 by the end of the year.

It is more difficult now to maintain weight loss but I am putting my all into it, I have a closet full of size 4 clothes and cant afford to buy more, nor do I want to buy more!!

Good luck to you. You can get back on track, your pouch is still intact, you just have to create behaviors that support your healthier lifestyle.
