being alone at the hospital
I actually prefer to be alone when i am at the hospital. I only ask hub to see me to the OR, then come pick me up, whenever that is.
For my WLS, I had my Ipod and the phone and the TV. I was also concentrating on healing.
4 years before, I had to be sent to a university hospital via ambulance, about 1.5 hours out. Again, hub and kids were available via telephone, and he came to take me home when I was released. Because it was an emergency, I had nothing but my purse and the room's TV.
DH also prefers to be alone in the hospital. We actually talk more on the telephone than "live".

Renee, I can't actually remember what state my husband was in when I had surgery. I got a ride home and took care of myself. I was actually grateful for the quiet. He is retired military and I am very used to being alone, which may account for how I have gone thru 4 major surgeries all alone.
