I posted this question on the RNY Message Board before realizing you had this forum.  I'd like to talk to people that are more than a few years out from RNY.  How long ago was yours?  How has your journey been?

Thanks!
Danielle

Hi Danielle! I had RNY almost 4yrs ago. The journey has been great, but I am still a work in progress. I have been able to successfully maintain my weightloss for about 2.5yrs now~I won't lie, it takes work and sometimes I struggle, but have been able to stay within a weight range during that time. I am thankful that I was given this tool and that even at almost 4yrs out, the tool still works IF I make the choice to work the tool!!! Hope this helps!

10/5/94. Love it. Would do it all again. Wish I'd done it sooner.

My husband is 10/24/95. He would also do it again, but it took awhile to say that since he got off to a rough start. But smooth sailing ever since

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.

I am approaching the 4 year mark in December.  Back visiting the boards as a family member just had RNY last week and I figure it can never hurt to get back on track.

Started at 290, my lowest is/was 165 but I have to work at it.  I 'comfortably' hover around 175, although that number is were my body tends to stick when I am not on track and the 'comfortable' piece has nothing to do with how tight my pants feel!  Old habits do die hard and I can always improve on excercising more and eating better.

Almost 7 years.  Lost 205 pounds gained back 3-5 depending on day.  I do have to watch it cause I could gain back, but before I could not keep it down.  I would say if you have the surg. do not worry about lossing to much unless it gets really bad cause you can have more rebound than you want.  Be good cause that easy wieght loss will most likely stop a little over 1 1/2 years out.  Do worry about getting enough protein and supplements.  Cheryl

I am a little over a year out. I don't yet consider myself a 'grad' even though i busted through my doctor's goal. I am still losing.
