I loved the 5DPT!!!  It helped me get back on track ~back to the basics.  I felt amazing after!   I would reccommend it to those who have found themselves eating too many carbs and have wondered away from the basic WLS rules

I have done it 2x's successfully (started it many  more times than that, but was not successful for the entire 5 days). It went well, however I never felt the restored restriction in the pouch that some report feeling. I did kick the bad carb kick both times that I did it so that was a great side effect and even though its not done for weightloss I did lose about 5-6lbs both times.

I would recommend it to those that are eating out of control (most of us end up in that situation at one time or another). It does help you to focus on healthy, clean eating and get back to basics. After 2 days of just liquids I never knew eggs could taste SO good, LOL!!!!

Its basically a way of resetting the pouch in preparation to get back to basics.

Today is my first day & so far sooo good! I have not felt hungry. I have had two unjury shakes, 2 servings of jello and 2 servings of the bean soup on the 5 day pouch test site. I have downed coffee, crystal light and water...lots! The only thing I have missed is a lot of chewing! I have a TT planned 12/19 and would like to hit 125 before..... while maintaining my protein. I am actually suprised at how easy it has been.

I work at a girl's group home on the weekends. This weekend, I jumped in there and ate like crap during the 2 days and 27.5 hours I was there. Last night I had gained 4.5 pounds since Friday!!! This morning I was at 139.5 this afternoon at 3 I was at 138. I recommend you do it! We'll see if I still say that by tomorrow night!!! Holli

I started it a few times and completed it once.  The 1st 2 days were tough, but the next 3 were MUCH easier.  I lost about 6-7 lbs., which, of course, was mostly water weight.

I re-gained the weight pretty quickly.  Although some have had great luck with it getting them back on track, the effects were NOT long-lasting for me.   The morning of Day 6, I went to a brunch for a special occasion, and unfortunately, I made some crappy choices.  After that, I just gradually started once again eating bad carbs and bigger portions that got me in trouble in the first place.

I won't do it again.  For me,  it's just too much like the old diet mentality of "all or nothing."  While I was doing it, it felt like it was going to "take," but it didn't for long.

Always,
Jo
