Well, today was a very lazy day. We went to church (second time in two weeks...Getting better in that direction) and changed our minds about heading into town...Went home and enjoyed the cloudy rainy weather together. These days a nice quiet afternoon alone together is just spiffy.

Breakfast: oatmeal, TVP, 1 oz soy protein, 1 cup soy milk. Coffee

Second Breakfast: Hobo Skillet (2 eggs, home fried potatoes with bell peppers, mushrooms, onions and cheese) and some biscuits and gravy (but the leftovers will be HEAVENLY!

Lunch: a chicken wrap from the brand new Sonic Burger in town (while in town, we had a shopping exursion to Trader Joes...yummmy new stuff to try..

Snack: 1-1/2 oz of Honey Roasted Peanuts

Dinner: Trader Joes, Chili Chicken Patty and some yams from yesterday.

Totals for the day:

Calories: 1844
Fat:79.4
Carbs: 173.2
Protein: 125.5

I checked my nutrition for the last month and I'm averaging about 1800 calories a day with a couple days that didn't reach 1500...Not too bad for me since I use alot of calories each day..

How did you do this weekend? Did the weather keep you inside or did you brave the weather and get out and move a bit...

I absolutely love your list...Always so close to 10% from calories to protein grams. I want to do that but need the calories. I've actually gained a couple pounds and it mildly concerns me but I'm giving it a couple weeks, it may just be the amount of salt I'm eating.

Keep up the good work. See ya.

I do a lot of strange things, but they do seem to work for me:

1) 40% of my diet is protein, always has been post-op

2) I upped my carbs from 30% to 35% because I had been feeling kind of out-of-it. Unfortunately this makes my fat very low so going to the bathroom's arduous at best!

3) I *always* eat every one of my planned 1200 calories-- even when I am not "hungry". Sometimes it means eating late, or a couple things at a setting if there's pouch space.

4) I don't eat certain carbs at all-- pasta, rice, most potatoes. They make my carb count very high and it takes up space I could be putting other nutrients in. I sub in TVP and am thinking up ways to get in quinoa, which also has a good amount of dietary iron, which I need.

My doc says I need 50g of protein a day-- I get more like 120g. But my question is-- if I ate 1200 calories a day and only 50g was protein, wouldn't that have to be a buttlload of fat and carbs to make up the slack? Sounds kinda hinky to me.

I love Trader Joes! We do not have any sonics here but they must be close because I see their commercial once in a while. I also made it to church; it is my month for sunday school I am in the 4's and 5's room; they are so cute! I did the 2's and3's this summer; they are too young! Trying to teach the lesson was like herding cats!
B-low carb bread with fried egg, 2% cheese sprinkle and bacon
S grapes
L-salmon, mashed potatoes and brocoli,
S-2 snackwell cookies; not SF
D-3 turkey meatballs, prego heart smart spaghetti sauce and 1/2 serving barilla plus whole wheat pasta, and a  big sprinkle of parmeson
S-probably a skinny cow ice cream sandwich
I had all my vitamins, calcium and water. I did an hour of Zumba and was soaking in sweat when done. I kind of compete with two other ladies; they are winning but I am a close third! My goal for the week is to get back on the daily plate! I think I am doing o.k but it would be nice to have a protein count as well as a carb count. Hope everyone has a great week!

We've been going to sunday school for YEARS...I had the best sunday school teacher. It took us 24 weeks to go through Psalm 23..8 verses or something like that. He went through each word and made it SO interesting. I was so sad when he died several years ago. Senior bible study hasn't been the same but we still go.

Herding cats...2 and 3 year olds. I totally agree.

I didn't do my Wii last night. Too tired from shopping. I guess shopping should be an olympic event the way I do it.

Good Morning All,
Unfortunately I did not make it to church yesterday either and was very dissappointed because I had planned to go.  The weekend schedule at work had not been posted so I received a phone call late Saturday night reminding me that I was scheduled for Sunday morning coverage.  The only way for me to get out of it was too find someone to work for me...yea right.

Trying to stay focused with my eating. I hoping to lose at least 10lbs before my two year visit with the surgeon in January.

Doing pretty good. You should have it licked by January.

My problem with church has been everything else but not work. I can find a million excuses NOT to go to church. I'm weak. So now that the wedding and reception is over I have another goal. I want to have my vow renewal ceremony at our church, since we didn't go to church when we were originally married 18 years ago. Can't even ask if I don't know the pastor that well (lol).

Your list looks really good. Those 100 calorie snack things always intrigue me but all the ones I've seen are too high in calorie and not protein. I'm okay so long as I have more than enough protein for the day. Maybe today (Monday) but it's hard to judge early in the day if I'm gonna have enough.
