How much carbs???
Hello this is my first time posting here. But I am reaching my one year surgiversary and I am still not clear on how many carbs we should be taking in a day. I do not eat sugar or sodas or high fat items all low fat.
But those pesky little carbs seem to be biting me in my hiney and I feel in my gut that I am regaining cause of them
Has anyone else had this problem and over come it?
I am trying so hard to stick with the program but I love sandwiches and baked potatoes and cereal. seems I need bread with every meal. Not sure why but I do.
well you kinda answer your own question there. carbs can be part of our diet, but a small part always.
try cutting back and i bet you will lose some weight again. i know its hard i fight that carb monster as well some days.
maybe try and eliminate them from one meal at a time, see which meal you really really crave them and try to do without at other meals.
i would also post your question on the diet and nutrition board, but i think the carb ratio is 30-40 percent of our daily intake after a year.
be safe and well, good luck, jacki
losing phase - 40% protein, 30% carbs, 30% fat
maintaining phase - 30% protein, 40% carbs, 30% fat
Personally I eat at least 3 bread/starch servings a day.. I stick between 1400-1800 calories a day so I need the carbs in order to keep my calories up. For bread carbs I always stick to whole grain, non-enriched and eat w/protein (kellogs high protein cereal, whole grain wraps w/turkey etc)... for starch carbs I mainly eat beans (kidney, black, FF refried) and potatoes on occasion.

But, if you can do carbs in moderation, good for you, but sounds like you're eating way too many. It is a lifelong journey - good luck.
