post op return?
do you think that after all this time that if you went back to the original post op diet you would lose weight again? i was reading some of the posts from earlier in the week and am having some of the same anxieties, yes i have gained back some pounds - between ten and twenty dependingon the week,, and am struggling to lose them again, i did finally get more serious about exercise and started a kick boxing/cardio class two nites a week and then am doing one to two nites of sweating exercising at home,, still havent lost anything, i tried special K challenge and lost six pounds after about ten days but then that didnt last either,, if in fact the pouch is somewhat "stretched out" can it revert back to its post op size? i dont know just alot of thoughts run thru your head when you get frustrated and start feeling depressed about your body - some days i look in the mirror and see the pre op body still,, anyway thanks for letting me vent
I don't really know the answer to your question but I feel its much harder now to lose the extra weight now that Im so far out post-op. My portions arn't large at all. Im 5 years out and still don't eat a normal size portion but when I cut things back, no change at all. And yes - I still see the 300 pound woman as well. If you find any answers that work - let me know, cause it seems like we're having the same issues.

I find if I follow the good old rules I can still lose~meaning push protein first, allow for good carbs from whole grains, multi grains, fruits/veggies, etc. Dont drink w/meals, allow the 30/30 before/after meals, but yet get in at least 64oz (hopefully more) liquids during the day and exercie most days of the week. Its not always easy, but it needs to be a lifestyle change~not a diet. I'm not always successful, but I strive to do my best on most days! And rememeber, you're talking 10-20lbs not 100's like we were before, so I'd say you're doing pretty well!!!!!!!

I had gained back 15 lbs of my weight loss. On Friday I started the 5-day pouch test, and as of this morning I dropped 5 lbs, but the bestest feeling is that my pouch is post-op "tight" again. You might want to give it a shot, although I'll warn you, the carb withdrawals (for me at least) were pretty severe the first 2 days.
