What is the PROBLEM???
Ok, I have to admit, I don't come on this board very often. I lurk on the revision board and the AZ board. I just have to say that yes the head and addiction is most of our problems, but "SOME OF US" have had a mechanical failure and/or didn't get the surgery that we were supposed to get.
Yes, my RNY was not even a proximal bypass. "Come to find out I was only bypassed only 30cm. That is 1 foot" When I lost my restriction (stoma size) it was all over for me. It took me 18 months to lose 100 lbs and that was all she wrote.
I just had a revision surgery and for those of us who have a mechanical failure we can get to where we need to get to.
If anyone has questions, let me know or go to the revision board and there are many of us there who would answer your questions. Failure is not your fault, you deserve a second chance.

Hi,
This is one thing I have learned. Education is the key. The more you know about wls, the better off we are. The surgery is NOT a cure, but a tool. We also carry alot of baggage into our wls life. Addictions, disorders, obsessive compulsive behaviors etc. Our recovery should include support and guidance to help us cope with our issues that triggered our gain to begin with. Another thing I learned is that the tool will work, if we work the tool correctly. We can't use a hammer to cut paper, for example. Lastly, studies have shown that after about two years, the body makes a major shift and weight gain is very possible if we don't make the necessary adjstments to our lifestyle.
I suggest some guidance in lifestyle changes that need to be adjusted and maybe some guidance in identifying the triggers that cause you to gain. Take some slow deep breaths.
Hang in there!
Paula
