I had surgey in October 2005 lost about 55 lbs but I have strayed off my diet and can not get back on trach. I have had a lot of problems this last couple of years. See my husband can't work anymore because of his heart conidtion he had open herat surgery just a month ago and I have been the sole provider for the last 2 years now that he is going to be getting his disability check I hope things will get better for me. I found myself eating more and more to get full. I have talked to the doctor who done my surgery to see if he could unfill my band and we statr over from the beginning but he would not even talk to me about it. Should I seek another doctore or what? Can anyone help me.

If your doctor won't do it maybe you could just try yourself. Go back to liquids and lose some weight that way them your doctor might listen to you. Of course you will get head hunger but try really hard. If you need someone to keep track with you I am here!

I had surgery in May 2003 and have lost about 220 lbs but I have absorption problems so I continue to loss especially in the past seven months. To hear your story is heartbreaking and I wish there was something I could offer you but I don't know a lot about the lap band since I had RNY done. The best advice I could give you is partly what others have commented on. Try and go back to the diet you started out with when you were losing. You could see another doctor but they may want you to do some preliminary weight loss of your own to prove to them that you are serious about it. If your doctor is being outright rude to you, then I would seek someone else. But remember, if you do choose your current doctor might give his opinion... good or bad.

Take care and keep the faith,

Hi Brenda, It is time for you to get back on track. Go back to eating  low carb, high fiber foods. Those dense foods will keep you full for a longer period of time. This includes, protein, fruit veggies and fiber.  Have you had a fill lately? Sounds like you need one. Get rid of all the foods that tempt you to cheat. Start exercising. It is a great stress reliever. You are from my neck of the woods. I was born and raised in KCMo. Good luck. Let us know how you are doing. Mona

No I haven't had a fill lately because every time I do eat I throw it back up. I do eat a small amout of oatmeal for breakfast every morning

Thanks
