MIA For So Long

I writing this not to be flamed or be told. I should of done something sooner and not waited till it got out of control but first let me explain. Yes I do get all of my water , vitamins and protein. Plus I walk ten miles a day and work out at the gym three to four time a week. yes I did have my yearly lab work done with my G.P.S and everything came back in normal limits. Plus I had routine blood work done twice a week for 8 weeks out at the RCC. Again all it showed was that I needed. Was iron transfusion and nothing else. Plus I had the same blood work done that my GPS order when my breast cancer surgeon did my bisopsy and still nothing showed up on that blood work. Then three weeks after that. They sent me in for a heart cath do to a false positive reading of a blocked value. Still they did not find anything wrong. So for three weeks I felt like I had the flu or a bad case of food poison on top of the evil time of the month. So yes I let thing go because the blood work was not showing anything and my insurance company refused to pay for the same blood work over and over again. Plus for four month I was on stomach medicine for gerd plus regan for stomach pains due to it. Then when the pain got so bad my PCP sent me to the hospital for out patient testing. Where the tested again for the same blood work as my GPS did plus all of the vit levels and hepatitis( seeing how I came in contact with some one in the end stages of it) Plus I had to be tested for aids. And a cardiac levels and a live panel. Again everything came back normal. Plus the cat scan after they did it twice only showed fluid near the appendix. So they where thinking bowel obstructing or herinal.. They called in a surgeon to do the surgery under the scope. Only to find out that they needed to open me up. And to there surprise found out that I had a massive infection that attacked the colon, appendix and even a large mass that was growing inside( which they where afraid was stomach cancer but turned out to be a massive ball of infection when they got the results back from the lab) Yes in the end they ended up taking the lower right colon and the appendix out. They where shock because none of the lab work showed a infection in the white blood count. The hard part for them was that the pain was in the left side of my chest .And it was hard and swollen .My point of my post is that. We know our bodies better than anyone else. And even if they say we are okay we. Have to fight until they find out what is going on with us no matter what. Taichi

Oh my Taichi, what an ordeal!  I'm so glad you kept fighting until they discovered what was wrong!

It's so frustrating when they can't diagnose what is wrong with us!

Good heavens, girl, what an incredible time you have had!  Thanks for sharing--and for the valuable reminder that we sometimes just have to go by our instincts and by what our body is telling us, in spite of not being "heard" by professionals (or in this case, not having the problems show up in your repeated labs).

The good news is that there was no malignancy, but geesh, you really went through a long & painful process!  I hope you're doing well now.

Always,
Jo

How scary! You are so right about knowing our own bodies~we have to be our own advocates and not give up until they figure out what is wrong! So, how long will you be recooperating? I hope you're feeling better soon!

Tracy Thank you for your well wishes. I am not sure how long it will take to recooper. All they tell me is to take one day at a time. Taichi

Hey sweetie!  My gosh you have had a hard year!  Between this and your families health too...All this stress for one person is sooooo unfair!  :::big hugs:::::This is such shocking stuff!  Who could have guessed that something like that was happening inside?  Any idea what caused it?  Any pre-symptoms that you might have had but didn't recognize til now that it's over?

I am sooooo glad you pushed the issue and saved your own life, I am quite sure!  I've been MIA myself but nothing quite like your reason!  I just got a job and have only a few moments online before I fall asleep at the computer!! I'm glad i had some time today and read your story!    Hope your recovery is a speedy one and that your next year brings you more blessing than what you've had to go thru!

Hugs

Hi sweetie, Congraduation on your new job. Thank-You for your well blessing. Thinking back the only other sign I had was that I was tired all of the time. But just took it as being busy with everything that. I had been going thur. But I thank god every day that everything turned out to be okay. Seeing how me and my husband where told that. 99.9 percent of the time when they find a mass like that. It turns out to be cancer. And the only way they do find that type of mass. Is by mistake when they are doing surgery. And by that time it has had time to spread thur out the body.Take care and thank you again.. Have a wonderful weekend., Hugs Taichi
