Sick and Tired of being Sick and TIRED!!!
I just needed to come here and vent and hope that someone can help me and encourage me! I have gained quite a bit of weight back and I am terrified that if I do not get this under control NOW I am going to get right back to where I used to be. I do not want that. I had a really bad stressful year and I am sure that did not help but things are back in order now and it is time to get back on the right path!
I got a new job and the awesome thing is there is a gym right on site with a full locker room and shower facility there. I know that is something that I will be ready to utilize. As far as eating...Any advice as to how to get back to losing???? I am open to any suggestion or positive feedback from someone that may have been in my situation and been successful at getting back on the losing side! Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing from you guys!

Hi-- close to surgery twin!
New job with the gym sounds so cool! It sounds like this year will be much better for you!
Have you tried the 5DPT? I think it's a good plan to follow to get back on track and carb detox. Remember though, it's just a jump start. After the 5 days, go back to following the rules, protein first, only good carbs, no drinking before and after, journal what you eat, drink your water and use that gym!

I hear you!.....I had my wls July 2007, with my goal being 145. I have hovered around 155 for a few months now and know it it because I am not as structured with my eating or my exercise. I am learning this whole process is so very mental. I went from the attitude of, "I have eaten everything and anything I have wanted all my life, that's part of why I am here, so if I have to give it up for the rest of my life then so be it!" But as we all learn in this process, things change. I had read all about the divorce rate after wls, and had done 3 years worth of homework with the goal being to do whatever it took to keep my marriage and grow through this staying with my husband. It has not been easy, but is rewarding growing together. What I was not prepared for was the other relationships in my life. And those REALLY threw me for a loop. Causing deep dark days that if not for my relationship with Christ and my new"pro-active" attitude, I do not think I would be here posting anything. There was actually a few hours one day not long ago that I lay in bed telling my husband that I really wish things were the way they were before wls. But because he is working at communicating better, he sat down beside me and talked me through the fact that often in life we just want to be comfortable. And we all know first hand, this life we have chosen often is very uncomfortable. Physically we become more comfortable, but the mental and emotional aspects can be very challenging. Sorry I have used so many words to say........KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!! You walked a walk not many are brave enough to start. Don't give up. Speak kindly to your self and be good to your self. I am going to get back to writing down everything that goes into my mouth and remember that I don't need to put anything in my mouth that doesn't feed me nutritionally....NOT EMOTIONALLY! And work at getting at least 30 minutes of physical activity in everyday. Not calling it exercise helps me. It's kinda like the difference between "diet" and "nutrition". A mind thing! I have also found b-12 is huge, when I miss mine, I feel it!! Hope it helps, it did me just writing it! lol!!! Thanks.........Crys
This was a great and encouraging post. I am 14 months out and have already started wanting to have SF sweets as treats....just tonight I wonder why I feel like I need treats. You are so right that there is a huge difference between diet and nutrition. Thank you for being so open and honest. It helped me. Felicia
On an amazing journey.....

I'm glad to hear things are going better for you now! This is a great time for you to focus in on things and get back on track! I have done the 5dpt 2x's successfully and it is a very useful tool if you want to give it a try. I like to just get back to all the good things I know I should be doing~protein first, no drinking w/meals and not 30/30 before and after meals, getting in over 64oz of fluids daily, exercise on a regular basis, etc. I like to log my food and exercise at thedailyplate.com~this helps to keep me in check. You sound like you have a positive attitude and like you're more than ready to tackle this and win!!!! You CAN do it!!!! Good Luck to You!!!!

I'm fighting a recent gain myself. It sucks. What I'm attempting to do is #1 cut out the mindless eating, things you don't count like a couple of crackers or just a little candy; #2 cut back on portions just a little bit, as I've been filling my pouch beyond capacity lately; #3 up my exercise, although I work out every day I really haven't been challenging myself enough, and #4 try to figure out if I'm really hungry or if I just want something to eat. I've been drinking more to try not to eat so much, especially Swiss Miss diet hot chocolate (25 calories), and I've been chewing a lot of gum. :) Good luck to both of us!!! Really, good luck to all of us.
