I am 5 yrs out and I am dumping on everything that I eat. I dumped right after surgery ,but never like this. My pouch does not like anything that I eat. I have lost 8 lbs since we had hurricane Ike. I am not complaining by no means about the weight loss, that part I like. I just don't like not being able to not eat. If anyone else has gone through this please let me know.
May you all have a Blessed and Happy week-end!!

Hi Donna. I'm 3yrs 9mths post op and have just recently started to dump again. For the first 18mths I didn't try anything off my plan, but around that time I tried a few things with sugar and had a few adverse effects. Now, in the past month I've dumped 2x's on a very small amount of sugar. I asked the dr at my support group meeting last week about this and he didn't have any really good answers, LOL! I just wondered where the sudden change came from??? Anyway, its making me stay far far away from sugar these days!!!! (which I really should be doing anyway, right!) As far as you dumping on everything, if it gets too bad you better give your surgeon a call b/c you need to be able to keep something down!!! Good Luck!!

That sounds like Reactive Hypoglycemia with a vengence!
You definitely might want to consult with an endocrinologist with this range of symptoms.
Most PCPs don't know much about the RH symptoms, so it makes it difficult for them to help us.
Can you get plain liquids down and keep them down?
If so, you might want to try the GNC protein drinks (the clear ones, and I can't remember the name) just to make sure you're getting SOME nutrients.
Good luck, and keep us posted.

Donna, how soon after you eat or you feeling this? And, how often are you eating? Is it immediately or later on? Possible reactive hypoglycemia as one of the other posters noted. This is happening to more and more post-ops.

It usually hits me right away. It is really weird,it seems like the things that I need to be eating is what is making me dump. At times I can do chocolate and it does not bother me. I have even dumped on a no-fat decaf coffee with no sugars in it.This has just happened since Ike.Don't know if it was stress and it has my system all out of whack or what. I have a Dr's appt on Tuesday to get my blood work results so just maybe I will find out some answers then. Will keep all updated.

I had my surgery about 3 years ago and am still having problems with the dumping syndrome. I am not sure why I cannot keep somethings down. I have gained some of my weight back but am trying so hard not to get that heavy again. I am always feeling hungry but I can't eat much before I have to make a trip or two or three to the restroom.
Anyone have any ideas?
