I had the surgery in 2006(RY) and have just started noticing that I am eating more....and it takes more to fill me up.  I had fallen in July and broke my ankle....recoup has been slow.  I am not walking/exercising much due to this....I hope to soon.

So is this normal to need more to get full?

What are you eating, we need more information to help you. Stay away from slider foods, eat dense foods like steak, pork, chicken, fish. Are you drinking with your meals? If you are, follow the 30/30 rule. You can still exercise even if you broke your ankle. Arm exercises, sit ups, leg lifts. By now you should be walking.
Are you going to a bariatric support group? If not start going again.

At about 18mths - 2yrs out I noticed I could definitely eat more and was hungry more often. From now on out is when you'll have to work with your food routine, focus on good dense protein, avoid slider foods if you get too hungry afterwards, etc. I think what you're experiencing is completely  normal and its really scary!! But you will see in time what works and what doesn't and you'll figure out a maintenance plan that will work for you! Good Luck with getting back to some exercise whenever you're up to it!

I'm not too much into walking or jogging for exercise so my husband got me a Wii Fit for my birthday this year. It's loads of fun and doesn't require any of that strenuous stuff..I mean you can get sweaty doing the Hula Hoop deal or the step routine but you don't have to.

I had my RNY in July of 2006 myself. I'm right there with you!
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I'd say you are probably more in check with the majority than the minority in needing more to feel full.  I also had this experience ~~ for me it was at about 2 1/2 years out.  It can be quiet scary but with good choices most of the time you should be ok.

Just remember when you see a slight regain to refocus and go back to a good solid eating plan that works for you.

I'm a little more than 2 years post-op and I can also eat more than I used to. For the longest time, I had to struggle to eat enough to stay alive. It sure was nice. No matter what I did, I lost weight or at least didn't have to worry about regain. I've gained back a little, but not enough to get torn up about. A good work-out every morning has been my salvation. Without that, I think I'd be in bad trouble.
