My fav:

1/3 cup instant oatmeal
1/4 cup Textured Vegetable Protein
1 oz Soy Protein Isolate
1 cup soy milk
1 container of motts no sugar added apple sauce

mix, microwave 1 minute, stir, microwave 1 minute, stir..microwave a bit longer (watch that it dosn't boil over..messes up the microwave bad if it does)

Alittle Butter Buds, a packet of splenda and BAM...one good high protein, high fiber meal. If you add the protein isolate, it's over 30 grams of protein. With one serving of the TVP it's 28 grams. Perfect start for my day!

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Textured Soy Protein. I shorten it to TVP and can't (in my mind) shorten it to TSP cuz that's Tri Sodium Phosphate (old habits die HARD)...

I find it at the health food store, some places (I'll find the site for you) on line and (of all places) the mexican market we have locally...

1/4 cup of TVP is 12 grams of protein and it has NO flavor but a slight nutty flavor. I also soften it and toss it in with browned onions, bell peppers, celery and make it into Vegetarian Chili. Reconstituted, it resembles chopped burger meat..it takes on the taste of whatever it's cooked with.

I put some on top of SF pudding (yummy crunchy topping). LOVE IT.

Are you infection free now? When the doctor clears you for pureed foods or soft foods, we can suggest things to you but for now full liquids is just protein shakes (you can make them pretty thick) and full strength juices if you can tolerate them. Ask your doctor about V-8 Juice. Some will not allow the tomato. I believe it's cooked so it's not raw veggies but you should ask before you try anything new and it's questionable. ESPECIALLY since you've had complications.

I just found some TVP at the local health food store. The longer you soak it, the softer it gets but no where near where someone on fluids can eat it...You could soak it and then put it in the blender when you're on soft foods but, again, that's up to your doctor.

I know! Makes me want to put together a $100 order just to see what they taste like! I may just have to put this on my Christmas List.
