I am six months out.  How much did you lose in a year. My prepop weight was 242 and down to 160 at 6 months out.  Down from a size 22 to a 10! At what month did your weight loss slow way down? What would you have done differently? Wondering where I could be at a year out?

CONGRATS on a job well done!  I started at 268 (sz 22/24) and at one year I weighed 130(sz6/8).  I am 5'4".  Since then I have dropped down to 120(sz2/4), I willk be 2 yrs in Dec.  My weight loss slowed down after a year.  I wouldn't do ANYTHING differently! I was told that my body will go to where it is suppose to be and I believe that!
Best to you!

I was 245 pre-op weight. I lost 30 lbs the first 30 days, then the next month, half of that, (15 lbs), then the next, half of that, (7lbs) then right around month 3 or 4 I slowed down to about 1 to 2 lbs per week. I lost slowly after about the 6 month mark, but continued to lose until I was 20 months out. All of my numbers are on my profile, if you want to take a look.
I eventually lost a bit too much (at 150 I was looking a little gaunt, again see my profile) and I bounced back up to 160-165. I look good at this weight and it's where I'm most comfortable. Right now?? I'm at 180 and hating it! I need to get my butt back to the gym!! The battle continues....sigh.....

I was 262 when I had surgery.  I lost SLOW for about 18-24 months.  I lost a total of 137 pounds.  I got to 125 for about five minutes then bounced back about to 140.  I weigh 137 today.  I would love to get back to 125.  I am 5'1"  I was a bit thin at 125 but I liked it.  I exercise a lot now walking, water arobebics. dancing.  If I had it to do over I would have exercised more at the very begining and lost all I could in the first year.  You will probably have a little bounce back weigh, so if you lose a little extra, the bounce back will leave you where you want to be.   It has been 3 1/2 years for me.  I have done great.  I still drink protein drinks and take lots of vitamins.

I started out at 240 but before surgery I had lost down to 214 (diabetic drugs made it horrible to eat) and the first 7 months I was down to 145 and was thinking I was done. The surgeon told me I could get down to 125. At 11 months I was down to 123 and he said I was "done". Right now, this very morning, I weigh 123.6. Two years. three months out.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Before Surgery: 214
Highest Weight: 240
Now: 125.6
Goal: 130

Hi there.  I had my RNY 8/17/07.  Just had my tummy tuck 8/26/08.  I started out at 282 and am now at 118-122.  Wear a size 2 or 4, sometimes even 0.    My weight loss slowed at month nine.  I maintained around 130 for three months, so that is why my surgeon did TT.    I stick to the protein first and lots of water principal.  I am a vegetarian too, so I have to make sure to supplement.  It is a chore for me to eat basically.  I have not really been exercising because of TT.  I plan on toning up as soon as Dr. says ok, and maybe someday getting a booby job.  Mine are terrible lol.  Congrats on your success and good luck!

Surgery morning I weighed 239 lbs, 2 days shy of my 9 month anniversary I weighed 128 lbs, 2 lbs below goal.  I continued to lose to 1 year out then leveled out.  Actually got smaller than I wanted, but now I maintain around 125-127 lbs.  Almost 4 years out, it takes lots of work to stay on track and within my comfortable range.  When I get above 127 I seriously start looking at my eating.

I am just a little over one year out and started out at 248 if I remember right. I am 113 as of this morning and in a size two. My weight loss has been in starts and spurts (no gains), quite a few stalls, but pretty steady throughout. I am still losing.

2 weeks before surgery I weighed 252, it took me until 1.4 years out to reach 100lbs lost, at 1.8 years out I hit my current weight of 145.  As you can see you are well ahead of where I was at 6 months out :-)

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)

1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)
