Eating at night? Cramps from exercise? A couple of issues to discuss here
I am having a problem with getting really sleepy at night or waking up in the middle of the night and wanting to eat... not that I'm hungry but then I can't really control it because I'm half asleep! Almost like sleep-eating?? Anyone else having this issue?? I'm assuming it's stress related because this has occurred since a divorce... I am taking extreme measures and throwing away the things I tend to want at night... if it's not here I can't eat it. I have joined a gym this week too and it feels good to be back into exercising.. I'm trying to regain some control here... my willpower is slacking!!! I have put on a few pounds since my lowest and it really scares me. It also disturbs me when I say something to someone about putting on a few pounds and needing to get back in control and I get the same response... "But you look great! You don't look like you've gained any" Or even "You needed to gain some" It makes me mad even. I guess I am wanting someone to agree with me and say "You need to get back on track... what can I do to help?" I would love for someone to offer to go to the gym with me or workout! People are so lazy and it's been rubbing off on me... and that's not me anymore.
Also was wondering if anyone else experiences leg cramps at night after a really great workout??.... It occurs on the nights after I've worked really hard in the gym... I am religious about vitamins and calcium and my lab work has always been good.....
BTW... I am looking for a weekly weigh in post to get in on for some accountibility ... which board is it on??
Thanks for letting me vent & the support!!!

hi candice
sorry u are going thru some issues and hope they resolve soon.
as to leg cramps, sometimes its lack of potassium, is yours OK?
i get them too, have all my life, even as a kid, and never found a reason. they also seem to be more common as we get older, dont know the answer to that either.
my moms doc told her to drink a small glass of tonic water every day, that it helps with leg cramps and she says its working. just a thought.
as to the pounds, go****s a battle, im up a few these last few months myself and i battle on a daily basis to get them down again.
good luck, be safe and well, jacki

Just my 2 cents but my doc told me that i was not getting enough water during and after the workout and as for sleep eating i just started that myself. I called my doc and he said that i am not hungry but i may be thirsty that is why i am getting up eating at night. Any way hope this helps.

Hi Candice! Your pic is too cute!
Yes, there's a weekly weigh in post here at the grad's board and I'm sure they'd love for you to join them!
Night time eating is a scary thing. I haven't experienced it, but I know a couple of ladies around here that have been thru that. Good that you got some of the stuff out of the house~that will definitely help! I also do believe that this can be stress induced. Maybe talk to your dr about ways to combat it or if even a mild sleep aid like Tylenol PM would help the situation (although I realize some sleep aids can make this worse in some).
Hey, You need to get back on track!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!! I know what you mean~people are always telling me that I don't look like I've gained or that I work out so much that I shouldn't have any problems with gaining, but we can all feel it in our favorite jeans when we've gained even 5lbs! Don't worry about everyone else, do what's best for you!!! I prefer to workout alone except if I'm taking a power walk~then I could walk and talk for hours, LOL! When I workout out alone I just feel like I can keep my own pace and do what I like to do versus having to be considerate of someone else's wants/needs. As for the leg cramps, I do get them occasionally. Mine seem to be from the knee down and they radiate on the outside of my calf~its so painful when it happens, but my dh is into body building and he has me ice it and then it feels so much better. Before I would suffer for a few days, but now with the ice I'm good as new in no time!
Good Luck and keep us posted on how things are going for you!

Have you been taking anything to help you get to sleep? Night eating is a pretty common side effect from Ambien. There's two types, the food disappeared and you have no memory of eating it and the I know I ate it but had no ability to stop myself. There's also two cures, stop Ambien and keep bad food out of the house.
For myself, I chose sleeping and keeping the bad food out of the house!![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/biggrin2.gif)

This is a real syndrome and I have been struggling for years. Just recently I've seen more information about it.

I was doing really well but in the last few weeks have stumbled back to it. There must be some anxiety going on in my life and some depression.
I'm going to try to watch my diet.
Is it too many carbs or too few?
Water - I think does help.
Get back to my exercise routine?
The more I freak out about it the more I do it.
