Hi there

I need to take iron and was wondering everyone's recommendation.  Liquid, chewable, pill, etc and which brand?

I started out taking just a plain old iron pill (CVS brand I think) and it made me so sick to my stomach... couldn't handle it.

Now I'm using VitronC (it's got extra Vitamin C added) and it's not bothering me at all.

Hi Laura. I take Tender Iron which I ordered from Vitalady.com~I really like it the best out of all that I've tried. It can be chewed and doesn't taste too bad. Also, it doesn't cause constipation like other irons do. Hope this helps!

I agree with Tracy-Tender Iron from Vita Lady is the way to go! I tried several prescription kinds, and this is by far the easiest for me to tolerate-and, it's very cheap. You can start off taking just a few until you can tolerate a higher dose, if necessary.

You can get carbonyl iron and it is the same ingredient as tender iron and does not give the same side effects as other iron products. I found it at cvs. It has improved iron levels in many people on this board.

Thanks Sher

I was looking at the CVS site and which product do you actually buy (IRON).   I rather go to CVS than order on-line.

Please tell me which one you get.

Be careful... ferrous sulfate is the most prescribed iron but it is a KNOWN gastrointestinal irritant so often bariatric doctors do not recommend it for their post-ops.

Good luck, Kathy
