TV dinners like south beach as your meals

Hi there,

I need to be on a structured menu or I tend to get off track and eat all the wrong foods.   I did the back on track liquid diet and I always do well, but gain it back.   I need to have food.

I was thinking of using the South Beach or Lean Cusine for my lunch and dinner, breakfast would be fruit or high protein oatmeal.  For my snack would be SF pudding or yogurt.

My question is, has anyone try using the TV dinners for their meals and have successful weight lost???

i will eat frozen dinners as a another choice for dinner,  if im not cooking, but i would not do them on an everyday basis.

they are high in sodium, and also some of them are high on carbs.  but as a few times a week thing, sure why not.  i feel whatever works

and yes, i have lost weight in the past using these types of meals, but never ate them like every day over an extended period of time.

good luck, jacki

I eat one of those meals about once or twice a week for lunch.  I have two toddlers so sometimes I need to make my lunch quickly.  I have still been losing weight whlie eating these about twice a week.  Lean Cuisine has a new one out called Parmesan crusted fish.  It tastes really good, has 15 g of protein, and lots of veggies.
Blessed mommy of two boys!

Thanks ladies.

I am going to use some of the dinners as lunch or dinner.  I really need to have a structured plan or I just grab anything to eat which usually is bad.  I also notice they tend to have high protein which I need.

There are several lean cusine that are low calories 200 or less and low carb under 14.. just protein and veggies. I ate these all the time about 4 months out and had great weight loss (obviously lol I was a newby anyway lol)...I could only eat half of one back then,  and now 3 years out find them the pefect size.  I actually just bought a bunch myself, to help me stick to structure.  I think they are a great idea, and don't see why eating one daily would be a problem.. I mean better then grazing on junk all day cause ya don't know what ot make for lunch..etc.  Good luck!

I eat frozen dinners at least 2 times a week. I think they are a great idea. They are starting to make more frozen dinners that are low carbs.. meat and veggies.  I eat mostly Smart Ones, Lean Cuisine and South Beach. They all have low carb dinners. Take a look at the smart Ones. They are for weigh****chers but I've noticed that the lower the point, the less the carb.   Even if I get that ones that are a bit higher carbs, it's ok because I just ea****ch my carbs for the rest of the day.

Good luck! If you have a Food Lion in your area, They are on sale this week. I'm going to stock up tomorrow. LOL

Hi Laura,
I too need a structured menu and with 2 little ones it's hard.  I use those frozen meals A LOT ~ read the labels!!!!  South Beach has lots of protein & low carb as do some of the Smart Ones.  Just be choosey!!!  When I use those I add an extra glass of water to account for the sodium.
Good luck!!!

I do frozen structured meals occasionally too but I find that we cook enough meat on a daily basis for me to eat a good healthy dinner and have enough left for a nice lunch. It takes alittle planning but when we have chicken I save me about 3-4 ounces of it, pre cut it and put it in a snack bag and freeze it. Then in the mornings when I'm packing my lunch for work, I have a cup of chopped lettuce or salad fixins in a container, that baggie of chicken and a 1 oz container of salad dressing and I'm good to go. I used alot of either pre-packaged foods or foods that I pre-package myself for my meals.

Sometimes I take the chicken or pork and put the cut up pieces onto whole grain crackers and eat them that way (with cheese this feels like a cheat, actually).

When I buy snacks like peanuts or soy nuts, I pack them in 1/4 cup snack bags for my lunches.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!
