What a surprise to find that I can now fit into my wedding dress from 29 years ago:)
Doing a happy, thankful dance!
Also, as one that has struggled with regain, 15 lbs., I have found for me, I have to stay away from the carbs.  And there is no other secret for me.  I am still addicted to them and it is just plain better to stay away.  I have lost 10 of the 15 that I regained in about one month's time.

That has to be so exciting to fit into your wedding gown.
How nice that is.
I too, have regained 15 pounds and I know I must stop the carbs.  So it makes me feel good that you were able to do that.  So now I know I can too.
Thanks,
Koukla

That would be interesting, however, I have not gotten into the pictures yet.
You have lost 100 lbs since June?  That is fabulous!  What is your secret?

Aloha Teach- You definitely need to snap pictures, that is such a terrific accomplishment ( I'm still 50 lbs away from fitting into my 20 year old wedding dress!).  As of today I am down 102 lbs total- I lost 16 during the 6 month mandatory pre op period (was supposed to lose 20 but didn't, was 323 lbs in March) so technically  86 lbs since surgery June 9th.  I changed my mind during pre op and went with a self pay sleeve gastrectomy rather than an insurance covered RNY simply because I live on Ibuprofen for a terribly arthritic ankle (trauma 28 years ago, fell off a cliff) and wanted to be able to take it again, and was intimidated by malabsorption/dumping  issues - I'm a veterinarian and the malabsorption in my ill patients leads to very bad juju. No secret, I follow what the doctors and nutritionists tell us to do - lots of protein, low carbs, exercise everyday, and water- it's been astoundingly easy and I find myself giddy at the no hunger or cravings part. It is absolutely exhilarating to discover that food no longer takes up my energy everyday- no longer using it as a reward, or planning my meals around it, or sneaking off to eat in private like I did preop. This has been a miracle and I find daily inspiration from people like you on these boards. Be well, be proud and take those pics! XOXOLori
