How many still lost weight after a yr?
Hi Andrea,
I was a year out almost 3 months ago, and I am still losing. But like some of the other posts said it is up to you too continue to follow a daily healthy routine. I was told by my surgeon that i will stop losing around 18 months out. Then I should start maintaining my weight. I am below my goal, so losing anymore weight is not what I want to do. My concern is ever gaining the weight back. Good-Luck!!!

It took me 1 year 5 month to reach my surgeons goal and 1 year 8 months to reach my NUT/personal goal.

OOPS made an error!! I lost 160 pounds year 1 and 30 in year 2 NOT 150 pounds in year 1 and 40 pounds in year 2.
18 - 24 months is the common time line for post op weight loss with RNY.
Not to say you will never lose weight again after this time. It just requires more effort on your part ;)

Hi there. I am 13 months out, and am continueing to lose VERY VERY slowly now. I just had my TT Aug. 26. I drop about 2 lbs. a month now. I am below goal. I would like to get and maintain at 120. I am 123 today. I am very short, very petite, (5'1) . I have gotten as low as 115, but I looked very sick and haggard. I am happy where I am at and very very thankful. Had to go buy some size 2s because 4s are too big. I think I am leveling out now. I have many friends who gain about 10 lbs. three years out, so I am expecting that. Best of luck to you!!
We all loose differently. I will be a year out on the 8th. Time has just flew this year. I still need to loose 10 more lbs to get to my goal. I may go to 11 lbs down because I would be at a bmi of 22. That is what my surgeon reccomends. I have lost very slowly compared to the people I now at my work. I have had several stalls. I do need to bump up my exercise. I just had my maintenance appointment with my nutritionist (In the program I am on you go when you are 10 lbs from goal). I have my year appointment with my surgeon on the 8th.
I will be 6 years post op in March and I am still losing. I hit a plateau for about 10 months where no matter what I did, the scale would not budge but then all of a sudden and out of nowhere I started to lose again. It was within I would say the last 6 months that I lost the last 15 pounds I had hoped to in order to being me down to my goal weight of around 150. I actually have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday though because after reaching the 150 goal, the weight loss won't stop no matter how much I eat and now I'm down to 134 in a matter of 3 1/2 weeks. That's way too much weight in such a short amount of time. Not healthy at all and I'm guessing there is something more than just the surgery going on here with my body.
As long as you're eating healthy and exercising, the weight will come off. It may take longer than you like and it might become very frustrating but be patient, keep doing what you're doing and it will happen for you.
Best of luck!
