ALWAYS COLD ...THE REAL STORY

I have a question for some of you longterm grads.
I am 5 years out and I still freeze all the time. The folks at work think i am crazy and so do I . Even in the middle of summer i am cold..  It isnt the thing on losing your insulation as alot say as I am not skinny minny ,,,,,8-10 in clothes ..  Not new , 5 years out and was wondering if anyone ever got a Dr to say what it could be besides losing your insulation..  I know very skinny people who have no insulation and they arent freezing all the time like I am .  I honestly dont think they know . Mr Dr has ran every bloodtest in the world and all looks normal so far .  I am not lacking in anything..  NOW , what hasnt really been testest at length is my hormonal levels and am wondering it it could be that ?
I would appreciate any suggestions or answers if anyone had any ..
Thanks so much

I never got to my goal weight of 140 but I do freeze all the time.  I hate it but I realize it will never change.  It's just part of a list of things that are a result of having this surgery!

Hi Shirley,

I am not a long term grad, but I just wanted to say I have the same problem.  I am cold all the time.  But I have been this way my whole life.   My blood work has been good so far.  I hope someone has an answer to your question.  Did you feel this way before the surgery.?  I am also a size 8-10 now.  I guess now that I heard that someone else has the same problem as me I don't feel like am so crazy.

Hey Melissa
I know it has to do with the surgery, just not sure what it is .. I have had several doc's say, you lost your insulation , but I know that isnt the whole thing.. LOL OK MY NAME DOESNT HAVE MD in it but you know how we just know some things,,,,well this is one of them . I feel it has to do with thyroid or hormones in some way ...
I had the thyroid checked to some degree and they say NOPE all good,,,
I get embarrassed at being so cold all the time as people always comment on it ...
Thanks for your reply girl

I've been freezing for 5 years...6 months of it I was anemic and REALLY froze...It was horrible! My iron was back in normalranges but my iron was still very low...You might have a low yet normal iron range...When my ferritin was at 16...and all my blood levels were normal...Doc said i was healed...I continued taking iron...once my ferritin got to the 50's I felt MUCH warmer...Now my thyroid is off and I am freezing again!  Never ends!

I'm close to 2years out. Yes I freeze all the time.  It can be 80 out and I'm cold. My family things I'm nuts. They tell to put some meat on my bones. Well I'll take the freezeing because I can just add more clothes to my body and that is easy to take off then the 115lbs I did lose.
