Hi, I am a lurker here on the boards,. just hanging around reading a lot and wanted to post as I am starting to struggle. I had lapband 5 years ago and am starting to slip back into old ways of eating. I have lost 140 pounds with my lapband but still need to lose 60 more pounds.
I do good all day long with my no cheating and eating 3 meals per day, protein first, veggies, then hardly any carbs but night time is when I slip up when I watch TV as you know with Lapband you can "cheat" with ice cream and soft foods and I do this alot and need to just not have these trigger foods in the house but my husband enjoys them and I buy all sugar free versions of the sweets but tend to over do it becuase Isay well they are sugar free, which Iknow better than to do this. I am flipping 5 years out, I know the lapband diet inside and out and get so MAD at myself for falling into these horrible habits once more. I have not lost steadily for over a year now.
I joined Curves, the gym for women and love it just need to make myself more dedicated. It is like I KNOW what to do to start losing again and have good intensions but every night temptation is there as I relax in front of the TV, Wonder if they have a lock I could put on my mouth after 6 p.m daily? LOL.
Anyone else lapband being 5 or more years out from your surgery? Thanks for any advice

I'm not 5 years out, only 18 months at this point. The best advise is getting back to the basics. Once you break one link, it's SO EASY to break the whole chain. You have to make Curves a daily given , just like brushing your teeth. I go to the gym at 7pm to avoid the relaxing in front of the TV. The most important thing is to find something other than eating to divert your attention.
Im over 5 and a half out....been having major problems for over a year with pain in area of band when I swallow. Hence I tend to stay with soft wet stuf and yes gained some back. Will be going for a conversion to a VSG this week.
How is your exercise program?? Mine has slipped too. I was okay with my band untill I started having the pain.
