Gimmie your experiences! 5dpt*
Hello Hello, well as of November it will be one year since I saw the numbers move-I am 2 years post op nad have 30 pounds to go to get to my personal goal. I have not regained, just maintained for this year without much effort. I just eat as I should but because of school have not been able to exercise consistantly or to a point where it would even make a difference. Anywhoo, I am ready to finally kick myself in the ass and get er' done!
SO this is where the 5dpt comes in... I am looking for your experiences, good, bad, neutral, whatever. I am doing this to get back to basics as well as to loose weight with it-I am not "Stalled" so it's not a method to wake up my metablolism. I think as soon as I make the effor my body will respond. Any comments would be greatly appreciated...thanks kids!

I just finished the 5DPT this past week. I've done it a few times before. I find it helps a lot to control the carb monster and get me back on track again. I lost 4 lbs this week.
It's a good good start, but to start losing again it takes a lot of work. You have to kick up your exercise, faithfully log what you eat, drink your water, etc.
Good Luck!
Michele

After trying a couple times, I successfully made it through all 5 days (this was this past spring). Days 1 & 2 were brutal, but once past them, the rest of the week was much more bearable (although the whole time, I somewhat felt like I was "white-knuckling" it. I lost very quickly on it--if I remember right, about 6 lbs. (I always lose that way once I'm off the bad carbs--of course, it's water weight.)
However, this approach backfired on me, and I did NOT do well the very next week. It didn't take me long to re-gain that weight. For me, I've decided it's just too much like a restrictive diet, and I get in that diet mentality--when it's over, it's over!! I do better when I just go back to eating the way I did when I was about 9-12 mo. post-op and get back to good, consistent exercise. And as much as I think it's a drag, it helps me to track my food on www.thedailyplate.com.

It did help me de-carb and put me back in focus of EVERYTHING that went into my mouth. Remember just because items are weight loss friendly doesnt mean they are calorie free.....so using the Daily Plate has helped me with this. Knowing where I am at with protein and calories helps me make the choice on if I should have a bowl of Kashi Go Lean or stick with the beef jerky. One thing I did find and I know this is too much info.....but I didnt do any fruit and very little veggies while doing the 5dpt and I got sooooooooo very constipated. The worst ever......so please keep in mind , we need fiber or its gonna hurt us big time in the end.....lmao sorry bad pun. Good luck and keep us posted
