what kind of pb crackers do you eat? They don't cause the seam issues with the sugars and such?
Thanks,

The ones on sale. I either get at Costco or Wal-mart. I prefer the cheese and PB, but what I have now are some round things.

I only use 3 of them to correct. I don't eat them any other time.

The "cheap carb" hits fast, the fat in the PB slows it down enough to prevent a roller coaster ride.

Same as Michelle, and the combination of protein and low carb just works well. The crackers I have are whole grain too. I don't know the brand name, I will have to go look but they are the cheap ones and I have them stashed everywhere too, not just for me but for my son. It helps level things out gradually instead of spiking and dropping the glucose levels again. Don't know exactly why it works but it does.

Tricia, peanut butter crackers work best for me also, 3 does the trick.  I also buy what is on sale, usually trying to get the Peanut Butter on Wheat.

Michelle, I posted to her on the Texas Message board and I'm on board with yall on the peanut butter crackers.....they are EVERYWHERE and ANYWHERE I think I need to stash them for "incase".  It doesn't happen to me very often but I can tell when it is coming on and nothing has helped better than peanut butter crackers.

Like the other poster said, my kiddos love them so I have to keep some hidden somewhere.

Update:

I went to the Dr. yesterday and they did a glucose/insulin/c-peptide test.  I woke up and at 7:38 my blood sugar level was 90.  So it was fine.  Basically I had to fast and show up first thing in the morning and drink this big cup of EXTRA sugary kool-aid type of drink.  It was SOOOO sweet and I dump!!! They took my blood before the drink, then I lied down for 30 minutes, they took my blood again, lied down for another 30 minutes, took my blood again, got to leave for an hour, checked my blood sugar it was 92, returned to get blood drawn again.  Now, at this point, I was on the verge of passing out.  I was sweating, heart was racing, I was jittery, I just wasn't going to make it but I couldn't eat!!  I got back to the Dr.'s office and asked them to hurry and take my blood sugar because I was about to pass out!!  They took the last vile of blood and I took 4 pieces of candy and devoured them!!  I got to my car, checked my blood sugar and it was 42.

I should get some of my results back today if not tomorrow.  My Dr. suggested that I try the anti-inflammatory diet.  So I went to the grocery store and bought the things that were on that list and I will try to follow James H's wagon plan diet also.

I'll fill you in when I hear something else!

Thanks again everyone!

Hi Sherry,

I too have reactive hypoglycemia but I react to all carbs (white or whole grain), even oatmeal. I've been using a prescription carb blocker called Precose and it seems to work most of the time so that I now feel pretty normal most of the time. No more passing out, sweating, or feeling fatigued all the time. It works by slowing down the absorption of carbs so they don't dump into your intestines. It was just by chance that I was diagnosed correctly by my husband's endocronologist (my husband is a Type 1 diabetic). I know others who have tried this type of medicine and it didn't work from them but it might be worth mentioning to your doctor.

Low blood sugar (especially as low as yours is getting) is nothing to mess around with - you can easily go into a coma and die so please make sure you follow up with your doctor. Good luck!!
