Hi Monica!

I'm just a bit over two years out and don't need to lose any (honestly should gain some but...) but I do occasionally feel like I lose control. With outside stress and just plain life it gets me feeling overwhelmed so I need to catch some control..I fast for a day. Just drinking my protein shakes and such but it helps me to gain control back and I've only needed to do it once in the last year. I don't recommend it unless it's desperate times but the five day pouch test can really get you that control you need sometimes..I'm pre menopausal too...Getting old SUCKS!

On the other hand, you do alot of exercise and you may just have gained some muscle mass which will weigh more. Are your clothes tighter now? If it's just showing on the scale it could be that...I know there's another girl on this site (not grads) who wears the same exact size that I do (4-6) but she weighs 30-40 pounds more...She's solid muscle, I"m sure NOT.

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Hi Dawn

That's wonderful to know that you are 2 years out and you son't need to lose any more weight..  How I wish that was me..  Everyone tells me I look fine, but I still see myself fat.. (but I think that's a mental thing).. I don't want to lose too much since I feel I will look older if I lose too much, but those 8 to 10 lbs I"m hoping for are stressing me out.  I plan on doing groceries this week and get the healthy foods I need... May go on the 5 day pouch diet and give that a shot and then just stick to proteins for while.
I currently wear size 6 in pants.. it's the extra skin on my stomach that makes me feel so fat!!!! I also believe that  since I've been doing high impact aerobics I may have built muscle.  I started in may..   I think I need to watch what I eat and continue to excercise and hopefully see a difference.  I'm no wear near muscular, that's like years away but I do see the difference.  Some parts of my body no longer have hope for muscle, just that flabby stuff that a good plastic surgeon can fix, but no $$$$$$ for the time being...

Thanks again for your input.. It helps me so much to know that I"m not alone.
take care

Size six pants are what I wear so where are you headed? You aren't going to lose the extra skin on your stomach at all. No amount of dieting or the 5dpt are going to help that. I have the flabby skin on my stomach so I only wear a bathing suit occasionally when my psychy will allow me to look that way...I have to psych myself up before I even approach the drawer my bikini is in, seriously.

Muscle is muscle and if you've been doing aerobics since May, you HAVE built muscle...

I took that photo because it's definitely mental that I feel fat too... Maybe you should get out your old pants and do the same. it's got to help your mental outlook to see that.

Hi Butterfly,

It's amazing how we can find out that we are not ALONE once we get back on this site...  I know how you feel, I began feeling dissappointed in myself and began worrying that in time I will get back to my 218 lbs......
I did try the 5 day pouch diet.. you can go to the site 5daypouchdiet.com  it will tell you what it consists of and how to begin the diet.. I tried it, and I lost 2 lbs.. I kep****ching what I was eating for about 2 weeks, and then the weekened came along, cookouts and parties and it went down the drain..  I am very consious about my liquids and not to drink 30 min before I eat and after, that's one thing I thin****pt in my head these past 3 years.. It's the ability to be able to eat anything and not get sick.. I sure hate that...  I think it's just a matter of training ourselves again to eat like we did in the beginning.. protein first........... Once thing that I continue to do (when I am concious of what I eat) is always use the small forks or spoons and the small plates..
Good luck to you and when you have a chance get on that site and try the 5 day pouch diet...
thanks for your response.
Monica....
