How many on here have tried the Edamame ...IT IS WONDERFUL . Has 99 calories , 12-13 grams of protein and 0 fat.  A wonderful snack and taste just like boiled pnuts to me.
I got mine at sam's , 8 or 10 containers in a box that you put in the micro for 3 minutes , shell and eat . Looks like a green lima bean ...I LOVE THESE
Now, this is a soy product ...I have heard eating to much soy isnt good ,,, so if I eat one container a day, is that to much?
Thanks fo rany info anyone might have on this product...VERY FILLING too by the way .

I"m eating it!  Well, not at the moment.    You can also buy it in the frozen veggies at the grocery store all shelled in the bag like frozen peas.  That kind is nice to add to stir fry's.

My nut. said to limit soy to 30 gr. a day.  Honestly, I haven't looked into how many grams of soy protein a serving of that has but one container a day can't be bad.

That edamame is fun to sit and eat while DH is snapping his sunflower seeds while watching tv.  I know it is bad to snack in front of the tv but let's get real here....

I love edamame and thought it was such a great find I began eating a 12 oz container a day.  If you are menopausal and on hormones, don't do what I did.  I learned the hard way.

I was in the process of managing my bio-identical hormones and eating the edamame everyday put me into estrogen excess and I began gaining weight.  I couldn't figure out why.  I stopped adding the salt but the scale kept creeping up.  It wasn't until I researched edamame that I found out 8 oz of edamame has the same effects in your body as one Premarin tablet - that's an estrogen replacement!  My pharmacist agreed the amount I was eating was the culprit.  I stopped the edamame and the weight gain stopped and I began losing what I gained.  I do eat edamame still but not every day - maybe once a week and that's it for me.  In fact I'm going to go have some now.  Good idea.

If you are not menopausal or have estrogen issues DO NOT stop eating your edamame or soy products.  For ME, too much edamame meant weight gain.  Just eat it in moderation.

I eat 'em too! I very it up between the stuff in the shell, the stuff preshelled in the bag and the toasted. I love the "soy nut" type, soo easy to eat a small serving of and up my protien intake.
