Big hugs!  Welcome back...I'm so glad you didn't let "embarassment" keep you from realizing that none of us here are looking for perfection in each other!  ALL OF US are here because we have been overweight and most of us have an eating disorder still.  So many people become alcoholics after WLS (transfer addiction)  You're a statistic!  We all are for something or another! Most of us just want to help or get help or give support in some small or profound way if we can.  You are not alone....So it's nothing to be embarrassed about...It's serious and we do understand that it could be any of us at any time....

So don't ever go away embarassed. Don't let yourself feel that you don't belong here because you have problems...We all have them...Some of us can talk aboutthem and some of us cant.  You've already made that giant step forward by talking about it.  Your willingness to talk might pull someone completely out of hiding so they can feel better too...or share what works for them.  I hope you know now that while some people will judge you....many just want to help or at least just give you a hug and some support!

Melissa,
You are not alone, remember that!  We all have issues, and they seem to come out even bigger and stronger after WLS surgery.  I read somewhere in the reply posts about transferring addiction, and I think throughout the past 4 years since WLS, I have had so many transferred addictions.  Alcohol & partying, shopping, attention from men, you name it.  :)  My guess is it would be nearly impossible to lose 100+ pounds and not have it effect us in many ways.  I also have several friends who have had Lapband and RNY, and watched every one of struggle with so many issues.

Great news is.............  WLS helps you realize where you CAN be, and know that you can get there again.

After a mega weight gain, I got back on these boards, and am really trying to focus on fitness, that seems to really help me.  I seem to be able to committ to working out, more than I can commit to healthy eating.  The great part is the working out seems to help with my other issues.
Good luck, and don't be embarassed, i'm so glad to see someone mention the word ALCOHOL, since it seems to be a huge issue for me too!
