Welcome!

Uh, no . . . you're definitely not "Hoss"!  You're doing great!  If you notice the stats in my signature area, you'll see that I am a "struggling grad," but I am also a very grateful grad that I'm not where I was 4 yrs. ago.  I have been back "on the wagon" for exactly one week and am already feeling MUCH better since I'm eating  good, basic food; drinking my Crystal Light & water; exercising; and journaling my food intake (www.thedailyplate.com).

Hope you like hanging around here!

Always,
Jo

Thank you all so much for the kind words!  I have a mother who still insists on shoving food down my throat!  I think she has forgotten my pain in SMO state.  Tonight she brought me "dinner" lol, 3 pieces of meatloaf, green beans, potatoes and a piece of cornbread!   As it goes it was enough for 6 meals for me now, so I divided it up and put it in containers in the fridge.  At Christmas she brought me FUDGE, HELLO!   So when she left it went straight in the garbage!

I went to Wal Mart tonight bought a ton of stuff for my now eating 13 year old son and got me some popsicles and 9 things of oikos yogurt.

Hi, Amy.  I am used to seeing you on the RNY board.  Welcome. I'm a lurker and occasional poster on both forums as I hang out mostly in the TN area.  Lately though I've been hanging out more here and rny boards.

At first, I was like "what does she mean by hoss?" And then it hit me, you meant your weight! Girl you aint no hoss!  Look at those skinny bones I see poking through aka collarbones.  I bet you look great, feel great, so don't you worry how much you weigh compared to anyone else! OK?

Hi AmyBeth,

Welcome!  I am a frequent reader and occasional poster on this forum.  I am approaching three years post op.  I am 5'4" (almost) and weigh dead on 160.  The charts say my BMI is normal at 145 but hello!  getting to that seems like a fantasy.  Your weight is your weight.  I keep focusing on my health now and know the number on the scale will keep me true to my wellbeing.

One thing I wanted to share.  I hung at 170-175 for nearly a year.  I lost 80-85 pounds in ten months and stayed there for about a year.  After my second anniversary of WLS, I dropped another 15 pounds without changing anything.  I doubt you are finished yet either.

Keep taking care of you!  That is your number one job.

Welcome!
Vicky
