Well, the weekend is over and the work week is going to start in just a few hours...My sunday was long and lazy. I didn't even get out of bed until 7:30...Yikes.

1st meal: 1/3 cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup TVP, 1 cup soy milk, coffee

Coffee

2nd meal: 3 egg omelet with green chilis, cheddar cheese, camp potatoes and a bit of sausage gravy - and COFFEE.

3rd meal: 1 protein bar (Atkins)

4th meal: 5 oz of beef steak and 1/2 cup mashed potatoes

Total for the day:
Calories; 1989
Fat: 107
Carbs: 136
Protein: 124

How do you all like/hate the new fitday format? I'm not loving it but some of it is interesting...A bit clunky yet but I can handle it so far.

I am so sad the weekend is over; I have a tough week ahead. My husband is out of town for a week for annual training with the Guard. Major staff meeting on Wednesday that I have not totally prepped for; disciplinary meeting with an employee Friday and the worst is dental work on Tuesday! Removing on old front crown to put on a new one in September. The next week I am taking off though so I definately see light at the end of the tunnel! Just got back from a BBQ and I did not have the chocolate cake that smelled great but was surprisingly not that tempted. I did my couch to 5K and an hour of Zumba so I am feeling a little bit tired tonight.

I hear ya there...More protein isn't easy...I've just about taken to stamping letters across my forehead that say CARNIVORE...Cuz I eat meat SO MUCH. Seriously, the only thing that gives you that kind of bang for your buck (calories) is meat..Good dense meat. Bison is the best but you'll find something.

Yesterday was a nice day. I didn't eat a whole lot, but I felt full, so I guess that's all that matters.

L: beef stir fried with a whole mess of vegetables
S: 1 serving goldfish crackers
D: Boca "meat" loaf
S: chocolate fudge protein ice cream/ a few bites of a protein bar
S: 2 scrambled eggs

I'm feeling a little down this morning. My bloodwork came back yesterday and everything was normal, except for my iron. (Ferritin was 1, iron was 9, iron saturation was 2, hematocrit was 25) It just doesn't seem to matter how much red meat, shell fish, vegetables, and bran I eat. I cried when I got the message because I've been trying so hard. I wish I could just take iron pills. Why am I allergic to something I need so bad? At any rate, I've got a call into my hematologist to see if he has any ideas. Trying to think positive thoughts here. Hope everyone else is having a good day (sorry to be a downer). Menus are looking good. Keep up the good work everyone!

Oh that sucks. I know when I was pregnant both times the doctor wanted me to take the iron supplements but they gave me constipation so bad...It wasn't worth it. I took to eating fried beef liver and hamburgers with just tomatoe (seems when you add tomatoe, the iron quadruples). Never was a problem when I was pregnant.

They'll find something for you. Maybe it will be temporary and you'll start absorbing it again. I've heard of that, I believe.
